Wow, this scares me - I almost bought an M6 GC last night until I found out that BMW no longer offers maintenance and no more powertrain warranty after 5 year on CPOs. They wanted almost $8k for a maintenance contract - I didn't even get into the cost of an extended warranty.

Can you guys with blown engines post what Model Year your car is?

Maybe the underlying issue has been corrected in later years?

The post talks about a 2014 F12.

Would love to see the full data of blown S63 engines to determine if there are any trends.

I would never own one of these (or any BMW) w/o a warranty. Risk is too high. During the first 4 years you can extend the warranty up to 3 years/36k miles. I went with 2/74k on mine at a cost of $5200. Has paid for itself so far with three warranty claims. Will have a major decision this fall, extend through third party or get a newer car.
