Lightbulb "Drivetrain Malfunction"... Sort of

I turned on my car the other day (car was already warm). It was still idling in Park, I noticed that the rpm during went below normal (around 450 rpm, whereas normal is 600ish?..). With that low of RPM, the car started to shake. Now I put the car to Drive and tried giving a bit gas, it was stalling for a couple of seconds, then a warning light came out saying "drivetrain malfunction". I put the car back to P, and shut off the engine, got out and lock the car. After a minute, went back, turn on my car, everything seemed normal but the warning was still there. I drove the car out, and warning light disappeared within 2-3 minutes.

Now I'm wondering if anyone had experienced this before? If so, kindly share what that was?

P.S: Car is fine as of today, and it's a 14' 650i F13, with the N63TU engine.

If it happens more consistently you're going to have to take it in to a Dinan dealer since it has the stage 1 package which I assume includes tuning. It could be a bad injector, spark plug, coil pack, or the fuel pump. I would try disconnecting the negative on the battery overnight, it should reset the ECU and may solve the issue, if it doesn't then most likely it's a hardware issue.

@BBLF13 , you should bring the car in for inspection. BMW tech should be able to see the error log.
The worst they just tell you that they can't replicate the issue.

Thanks for the thoughts Downfourit r33_RGSport . So far nothing like it has happened again, car seems perfectly fine.

Asked around a couple of friends running on the same engine (experienced the same thing i did) and they said that it's mostly due to the fuel injector? Told me to get a fuel injector cleaner from chevron. anyone care to share their thought on this?

On a different note, what fuel brand do anyone here prefer and any specific reason why?

Thanks!
