If you open up your stock mufflers and remove the baffles you'll be able to listen to it. It's the only difference between Comp Pack exhaust and stock. May be too much trouble if you only want to listen to it though, but it's not a huge difference in sound anyways. I think there is a YouTube clip of a Sakhir Orange M6 with Comp Pack revving at standstill as well.

Is that possible to remove the baffles ? Can this be done without going to a exhaust shop ? .

I don't know what the exact process is to remove them. There may be a thread somewhere around here that explains it. I just know that it's the only difference between both exhaust. Other than that, they are completely identical.

This is my GC Competition Pack cold start

I think there are more differences than just the baffles removed from the back boxes, the front muffler also has a different part number for the CP exhaust which is 7.5lb lighter. The rear back boxes are only 0.2lb lighter for the CP.

You may be right Richard, if there is that big a difference in weight I would assume more parts are different. However this is the only difference I've found listed on any press release or spec sheet, and the sole reason stated for the difference in sound. So perhaps the OP may be better of just pulling the baffles rather than upgrading the entire exhaust system, if it's not too invasive a procedure that is.

I don't see that much difference between mine (stock) and Competition Package; however this is just Cold Start

The info I've seen on the CP just states 'Sports exhaust with black Chrome tips'.

I read the CP exhaust is made by Akrapovič.

That's the M-Performance exhaust not the CP.

Akrapovic makes the M Performance Exhaust, which is the same as their Akrapovic Evolution exhaust for the M6, just that it has both BMW and Akrapovic branding on the parts and that it is offered with ///M branded exhaust tips. I have it on my car with the Carbon Fiber ///M exhaust tips and love it. My favorite mod so far. Plus it's made completely from titanium so it's very light and has decent HP and Torque gains. The CP exhaust is completely BMW's work.
