Question on smart LED high beam (RichardP?)
Been playing with the lights, as you do.. and maybe I am getting confused.
I've seen the videos of who the beams are meant to move when cars approach, but all I seem to get is the beam totally dipping down to off when it detects another car, no moving of the beams or changing of which light is on. Get the feeling that this still is not coded in the UK, or does it only work if you have high beam set manually? |

In my car the high beam assist turns the high beams completely off when it detects oncoming traffic. Then back on. Never noticed them actually moving away from anything. Maybe this is how it is in US cars, you guys with UK or Euro cars probably get the "moving away" function exclusively.

I believe this may be something that changed recently. The full high beam assist is not enabled in any UK car I know of, but may be available in cars built from week 36. If it is available then a dealer should be able to code it if your car has the required hardware (speed limit display/lane departure ...?).

Pressing the button, but it just goes off when cars approach so I don't think it works. I will be getting it coded on if it isn't when I get round to doing the coding.

when you engage the HBA by pressing the bottom button on the stalk a green light should come up on the dash display, showing a headlight symbol . Then the lights should dip and move around oncoming/ and cars your passing. You must have it IF your M6 is the latest version What was the build date again?. PS) it's called "intelligent headlights".

The M5 has had it much longer than the M6. The sales person was astounded that the M6 did not have it back in October last year. I think your car will be one of the first in the UK that has it John (assuming it does have it!!).

S5ACA Fernlichtassistent High-beam assistant This code is NOT on my invoice , so maybe I have it. But I was saying to matt (mailed) that the new M6GC book I was given has it as an STD fixture called "intelligent headlights" integrated into HBA. I will check when the car arrives.

The problem is that my car also has S5ACA and it does not have the full active headlights. Your M5 almost certainly just has the same option and it does have it!

Yes, I 'think' you will have the feature, but only cars built from the start of last week will. Some people claim to have had it coded.
