Note: this is a global press release, so these paints may not be available in all markets.

September 19, 2013

Additional BMW Individual special paint finishes for the BMW M5 and BMW M6.

With the aim of combining outstanding dynamics with ultra-exclusive looks, additional variants have been added to the selection of BMW Individual special paint finishes available for the most powerful high-performance sports cars built by BMW M GmbH. Joining the range are Frozen Black metallic, Frozen Blue metallic, Frozen Red metallic and Frozen Brilliant White metallic, which can all be ordered for the BMW M5, BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Convertible and BMW M6 Gran Coupe. A sophisticated painting process used exclusively by the BMW Group lends the surface of vehicles specified in these paint shades an eye-catching, velvety matt appearance which richly emphasises the body’s powerful form. In addition, the BMW Individual special paint finish Frozen Cashmere Silver metallic is available for all model variants of the BMW M6.

Will the CF roof be dulled to match? Does anyone own a car with this type finish? Does it clean easily?

In fact, you know what'd be even hotter? Pre-preg (Dry) CF instead of the Wet CF that we have on the roof now. That'll get you the non-glossy look in a much more natural / awesome way.

There was a frozen silver M6 Gran Coupe at the Goodwood festival of speed, the roof was glossy. It did look very nice though.

Matte paint is EXCEEDINGLY difficult to maintain. It shows every mark, including just finger prints. You can't easily touch up stone chips and you can't polish out small scratches and scuffs.

Unless you keep the car just for show, by far the best way to get a matte finish is with a wrap.

Is the frozen cashmere silver the same color as what the m6 gc was released with? Or is it a new type of silver?

It's different... the original frozen silver was based off of silverstone. In fact most all the frozen colors are based off of a normal color, just with a different finish...

Black Sapphire Metallic -> frozen black
Brilliant White Metallic -> frozen white
MCB -> Frozen Blue
Sahkir Orange -> Frozen red
Space Grey -> frozen Grey
SS -> Frozen Silver
Cashmere metallic -> Frozen cashmere silver

I want to see a frozen melbourne red or a frozen moonstone.
