Ermm,,Plz don't say i'm an idiot. Butt,,,

I do like this new 6 a lot, a lot more than the previous 6.

Also, i like the F10 more than the E60 but not more than E39, of course.

It doesn't mean i don't like Bangle's design philosophy. I actually love his age. He realli took the whole BMW design concept to the another level. He is one of the bests out there.

However, i love it more to see BMW in very Simplistic way.(It's jus me)

New BMW cars now does look a little bit too bland compare to those that came out in the past 10 years. However, they are still very beautiful cars compare to others. They are more finished, every lines and curves that cuts toward the cars are just phenomenal.

Also, imo, it is just better than ever before because when u buy a regular bmw now,u get a beautiful simplicity design, and when u want something more agreesive,,u get M or M-sport package or others aftermarket accessories parts. Unlike wat happen to MB right now, their cars looks better and more aggersive than ever before, but they are all jus look the same with or without an AMG.

P.S. Sorry for my poor English skill and misunderstanding. Thk u guys.

I never liked it. AUDI ripped the idea off BMW's angel eyes and called it "angel wings". The idea was to make a finger print for the car.

very well said, I have said before and will say again "all things to all people" is a dreadful decision for BMW... however it is all about money, 5 year plans, and economics in Asia. Our greed in outsourcing is where we can blame it all. bland "base" model, more aggressive "ZSP" for enthusiasts who will pay more and "brand engineered" no-longer-normally-aspirated M's for those with deepest of pockets.... I felt so enthusiastic buying my E92 and entering the BMW world for first time... now... just not sure what to think? ~Frost

And the stupid idea of changing the kidney grills by adding eye-lids... another major design/brand hit to BMW IMO. It took a lot of time and a lot of money for BMW to correct these flaws across the line, but eventually, some of them worked out. But this shouldn't have been the case to begin with, BMW shouldn't have had to work anything out to those extremes, accept for some light design-que updates here and there. I will give credit though to one design I think Chris Bangle hit out of the park, which is the e60.

Now, for BMWs new gen cars... I just don't know what to say. They're terribly boring, no different than a Toyota. I don't think they have a design philosophy anymore, it's about margin and how well their cars will do in the emerging markets. That's where the dough and longevity numbers are for BMW. They don't care if they appeal to EU and the North American market. But they're making a major mistake IMO... and these new lackluster and Toyota-minded designs will eventually affect the brand, regardless of how rich they may become in Asia and elsewhere. Eventually, that bubble will burst, and when it does, it's going to be quite the collapse.

Interestingly enough though, if you take Mercedes for instance, who are also aiming for riches from the emerging markets, have kept true to their design philosophies and IMO, are out designing BMW ten-fold. I thought I would never say that, but I feel this can be a true statement. Are Mercs better than BMW when it comes to build quality and reliability? Probably not... Are they more appealing? Yes, absolutely. Do they look bad-ass when you see them coming down the highway? Hell... yes. How about the new 5-series? I yawn actually, as well as almost mistaken it for another dime-a-dozen Toyota.

It's a shame BMW has lost its way... and further yet, diluted their brand with too many choices... and too many models... Just think of how little time they have to spend on "each" one of these new models now... to refine and produce the most outstanding product. They don't anymore... Teams were able to spend a majority of their time designing from the ground up a handful of models, now they have to do the same, in the same amount of time, for well over a dozen, with the same labor-force. This spells half-baked designs, cheaper quality, poor forward thinking, and lessor engineering and more dependence on correcting these flaws with operating systems.

Two thumbs down

The milks gone bad! This car is uninspiring and sadly weak. I would definitely rather drive a Benz or a Caddy than this! Hopefully the 2013 M3 looks better than this trash.

The back looks very nice and fresh, but the front is bland and it is nothing like the Gran Coupe concept they showed a few months ago. The front lower grille is just dumb for this car. Hopefully the M-Sport version will bring that lower grille back...

In regards to the 5-series, I think they really messed up with this one. I would almost choose the e60 over the F10. It still looks fresh while the F10 looks already dated.

it does look boring, seems like BMW has been doing this on purpose so we can buy the M-Sport package, something I would have done anyways

Yeah I feel the same way. When I look at the new 5/6 I don't feel the artistic spark. It lacks the inner child. I can almost imagine them in the drawing room:

Designer 1: "Ok, so apparently Bangle stuff was too polarizing/controversial, what do people want?"
Designer 2: "Let's just copy Mercedes/Audi and slap kidney grills/angel eyes on it."
Designer 1: "Okay."

EDIT: Also I agree. The E60 could still easily be mistaken for a new model. My favorite during the Bangle era are still the E60/E92/Z4/E82 and the X6.

completely agreed!

the "eyebrow" turn signals and the "wing" rear lights on the previous gen of the 5 series were, seriously, trademarks to the perfection! the new 5 series - where? oh did one just pass by?

same goes for the 6 series. BMW needs a NEW design team!

Its funny how we all see things differently. Overall I liked the E60 and the 6 series but they are starting to date because of their bold styling and funny shapes. That said, spec'd nicely these cars look great. Msport E60 will always be a nice car.

However, I just think the new 5 series looks sharper, lighter, less "lazy". One thing I didnt like about the old 5 was the interior, but now it looks neat. The new 6 immediately looks better without the bangle rear (facelift does look acceptable though) and it overall looks more sleek. I think the new F10 reminds me of the old E39 and the new 6 is what I wanted it to always be from the start.

I like where BMW in going with these 2 models.

I think it'll look better in person and in other colours. The tail lights are pretty cool and the big front fenders that come up from the sideskirts will look sick up close.

BMW is definitely on the right track with its designs. As hks mentioned, we do indeed see things differently. I personally love the way the F10 looks, not to mention professional publications praising it. I know we are all entitled to our own opinions, but theses are professionals!

oh and whats this?
