Thumbs up 2011 6-series convertible shows in different looks and colors

We bring you the first photos of 6-series convertible test cars in different colors and configurations. Previously, only a milano beige F13 6-series has been spotted, but we now see the stunning convertible in both silver (650i) and red color (640i). The silver 650i wears some beautiful wheels we've not yet seen, which transforms the whole look of the car (for the better), in our opinion.

Here is the BMW announced production schedule for the F12 / F13 6-series coupe and convertible.

MY 2012:

March 2011 - 650cv
July 2011 - 650cp
September 2011 - 640cp/cv
September 2011 - 650xi cp/cv

Funny how they even cover up the wheel roundels with the swirls. God forbid if someone finds out it's a BMW.

I thought that there was gonna be a kick in the crease above the rear wheel arch a la CS concept? Didnt Scott26 allude to this several times when all the photoshops were appearing?

Yeah, but it looks like VanHooeydonk and Company chickened out. Bummer! I thought that little kick would have looked great on the 5 Series, too.

I hate these new smiley front bumpers on the LCI 3, new 5 & 7. Also hate the benz style side mirrors.

BMW decided no more, because Mercedes stole it. (Mercedes E Class)

Agreed that the bumpers look a bit weak with the smiley face design (kind of like non-AMG bumpers on Benz's)

As for the mirrors, those are obviously not the final production mirrors.

Am I the only one who finds the new 6 to be ugly? The rest of the lineup seems to fit the new front ends BMW is going with, but I don't think that it flows on the 6 at all!

+2, based on what I've seen so far I like the current E63/64 better. Especially an E63 M6. I may be in the minority but when that car first came out and to this day I think it is the best looking BMW in along time. Although the current F01 as well as the new F10 are lookers as well. Just not feeling this car, yet anyway. It will grow on me like most BMWs I'm sure.

Same motor thats in the 740i's - 3.0 liter Turbo 6 - 315 HP I believe - You can tell the red one is a 640 because of the Exhaust tips. The 8 cylinder has the squared off tips (silver car) and the red has round tips, just like the new 535i and 535GT.

No we are slated to get the 6 cylinder, it will just be later in the year. Just as they as they did with the 7 Series. 740i & Li models are out and selling well.

I dont know how people can say this without ever seeing the car for real. How can you say a car is ugly before seeing the front and rear bumper? The car is covered and its very hard to tell what it looks like. Maybe you have a picture that no one else does? That is such a crazy comment being thst you have not even seen most of the car yet.

In Canada, we only have a 750, no 740 here.

Interesting to know that.
