Tracking my 640i GC.

I'm tracking my 640i GC build and BMWUSA just says "your vehicle is being built". Does BMWUSA provide detailed updates or will BMWUSA just say "your vehicle is being built" until the next phase starts? Thanks for your help.

No, that's all the info the website provides.

Also, the website is about 2-3 weeks behind the actual production of the car. I would call your SA for the most up-to-date status of your car.

Congrats!

Thanks! My SA made it seem like a big deal, but now I see that i'll be better off getting updates from him. Lol!

I can't wait to take delivery and post some pics!

Sounds exciting. As soon as your vehicle is designated a VIN, you should also be able to track its shipping path. There are a number of apps out there for vessel tracking you can check out.

The "courage" just left the port a couple hours ago, I was hoping my car would be on it. But since the tracking still says no record found I am guessing it is still at the port. The "Aida" is at the port and leaves tomorrow, hopefully it will get on that since the next boat doesn't leave until December.

You need to stop now.

Keeping this up will drive you nuts and keep you awake at night.

It's like buying a mutual fund. Just buy it and leave it alone. Watching its daily price fluctuations will make you go bald.

Yeah, but once it's on a ship, you can obsess over weather, port traffic, and pirates!

Maybe not so much the pirates, but the rest is fun.

LOL, I am just obsessing now because there is a decent size tax credit if I can pick up the car in December. If it gets on one of those two ships, it should be here by the last week of December.

Obsessed too..

Mr DJSAAD1?
Where you able to determine which ship your car got in? Mine was also at the port, and I did not get a "In transit" phone response until the "Honor" ship left on Dec 1. When the Vin # is entered in the ship line web site, no tracking is available. Wondering if there is a for sure way of knowing which ship the car is in. This in turn, can provide an actual time line to deliery.
And yes, I'm obsessedhappyanim:

I don't know for sure but my guess is my car is on the chesapeake highway, with the k-line shipping company.

If you call your dealer they know the name of the boat, once I knew the car left the port I didn't really worry about it anymore.

Oh dear. What a disaster. Hopefully there are no fatalities. Cars can always be rebuilt.
