what gives us the best exhaust sound?*650igc*

I've been reading up on this for a bit and can't decide whether I'm better off deleting just the muffler or muffler and resonator an then add quad tips thank you in advance!

My personal opinion, don't go that route. Buy an exhaust with mufflers. Whether it be $500 Megan's or $3k Eisenmanns, much better sounding than straightpipes. Other option is pick up used M5/M6 mufflers. Your car obviously but it's a F06, not a WRX or 3 series.

Deleting the muffler and resonators (going straight pipe) will make your car drone like crazy inside the cabin. Would not suggest that route as the sound will sound sloppy and cheap IMHO.

I would agree to atleast get the Megan's for $600-$700 over doing the straight pipes which are guaranteed to drone like hell!

I have a great pair of Eisenmann Race axle back with black tips if you're interested

I just got a F12 and I am still on the same boat as you. But when I had a camaro I purchased after market MRT exhaust which was smooth and all but I wanted my car to sound louder so I changed it to straight pipes and loved it. I used to drive from Pittsburgh to Chicago all the time and with little music in the back ground drone is not even noticeable. Not sure how a straight pipe would sound on a bmw though.

Hey all, what model of Megan muffler is compatible? Or is there an all-in-one package you can buy?

What about replacing the resonator with an x-pipe for a cheap option? I saw Youtube videos of this done to the previous generation and sounded quite nice.
