M6 vs ZR1

Looking at a second daily driver for nice days and mainly weekend warrior. Not planning to track more than once or twice a year.
I have found low mile pre-owned cars in the same range ('10 ZR1 and '13 M6).

I was wondering if any of you have owned both and had subjective thoughts on these.
I have driven the ZR1 but not the M6. I realize the ZR1 will be far inferior in terms of amenities and lacks the rear seat but I did love it's incredible grunt when I drove one.
I am hoping the M6 can deliver the same rush.

Look forward to this great forum's opinions.

Why is an M6 vs ZR1 thread in the F8X forum? What does that have to do with "M3/M4 vs."?

Fair question. I just come here because of my F80 but I see how it could be more appropriate (although more biased) on the M6 board

LOL... but at least over there people have driven M6 if not ZR1 and can tell you pros and cons, and there is no need to be biased! Different cars, different purpose. One super sport, another sport-luxury. One American, another German. One Corvette another M-Car. One DD car, another track car(if you have enough skill to handle over 600HP),...

Neither... a C7 Z06 is what you want. Better interior and tech than a ZR1 and more performance than the ZR1. It will take an M6 on the street or track. There... solved it for you

I agree. Buy a brand new C7 Z06. Starts at $79,000.

first of all C6 is over now, if you wish to compare C7 ZO6 and M6:

IMO you can`t compare ZR1/ZO6 with M6, its a different story, there is for speed and naughty driver and here is luxury and comfort, if you are looking for teasing with super sport cars for sure go for the ZR1/ZO6 , if you are looking for unique sport, better quality and safety, come here.

Thanks for the replies.
I agree that the C7Z will be incredible but it probably will not be available until February (I am looking to purchase soon) and I suspect the initial months will have mark-ups as well...
I should try to test an M6 and see what the car feels like, I have heard and read that it is a beast...

Go for the ZR1. The mag ride gives you great ride comfort for daily duties and cruising. Prices have dropped significantly, I saw one go for $50k so the deals are out there. Also, the C6 had 9 years to work out all of the kinks. As far as quality issues are concerned, it is usually best to go for the last of an older model year than the first of a newer one.

If interior is really what is holding you back, there are several people who have been some custom work into the interior of their zr1 and z06 that have come out looking fantastic. There are options, all of which can be found on the corvette forums.

If I could get one in the 50s I would immediately jump on it. I've only seen them in the high 70s...

I've only seen one go for high $50k's. There are several deals for those in the $60-70k range. Check out corvetteforum under C6 for sale. The closer you get to the release of the new Z06, the more prices will drop. Nobody will be able to sell a zr1 for $75k when the new z06 has the same performance with a much better interior for the same price. It's just not going to happen.

Opinion? Well, you're talking two completely different cars...sports car vs sports coupe. For something completely different, I'd get the vette, which is a true sports car vs. a tuned touring coupe.
