Racing in the wet is obviously going to give the Audi more advantage. I would have rather seen the results on a dry day.

Listen, I don't have a dog in this fight other than being a BMW fan. And they picked the BMW to win, so there's that. But honestly, the thing that I took away from that review is:

It sucked.

Both cars are stupid fast, styling is your preference. The Audi is a better deal, the BMW more exclusive. But when it comes to the driving, man, that guy describes it as well as Hellen Keller would.

Review was terrible and lifeless but he did drive the knickers off those cars with lots of drifts and hard cornering so fun to watch

Actually, I was just on track with a factory prototype 100+ hp tuned rs7 over at big willow...or at least that's what the guy said, granted he was there with a nice collection cars.

Wow that Audi is so ugly, especially from the back. They all look the same from the front too (Audi's).

RS7 all day no question. No one power slides all over pubic streets (no one with half a brain at least).

LOL @ the comments on Youtube.

People are so easily butthurt when others say "RWD is more fun to drive than AWD."

Nobody is arguing about the superior traction, acceleration times, or all-weather usability. But as a true driver's car, RWD+LSD+responsive drivetrain, etc. will always take home the fun to drive trophy over a comparable car with AWD and people are misinformed if they think they need to be driving the car sideways at 60mph to figure that out "in the real world".

Both cars just tested in South Africa on the track and 1/4 mile. RS7 whipped the M6 grand coupe in all performance tests.

Check out the video.

Audi RS7 also beat the M6 on a lap.

Look at Car and Drivers comparison as a counterpoint. The M6GC 11.7 124 vs the RS7 11.6 @ 123 so the M6 actually is faster from a roll. And the M6 beat the RS7 in the slalom by almost 3mph which is rape!. So something was up in that video. The M6 had 0 wheel spin on launch which means it wasn't driven correctly period. Even just flooring it without launch control mine has a ton of wheelspin and runs 11.6 @ 127-128 by GPS all day long without launch control.(Mine is a M6 coupe grant you but still). The M6 is a better looking car and more fun to drive car as well. Tired of everyone throwing it under the bus based on one comparison.

A sign of the times, lot's of good competition coupled with a shift of focus from BMW. The auto press hates most anything that isn't track focused, the significant majority of those actually buying hate most anything that doesn't have some comfort/luxury, the reality is what it is.

The M6 (all variants) is getting more attention as practically all the press prefer it to the M5, so there is more scrutiny.

The RS7 is so ugly. The back is hidious. People were so critical of the BMW bangle-butt, but the RS7 is a lot worse.

And, the comparo in C&D was of the standard GC. They didn't test the GC CP.

I love the Audi's Q-car-ness and capability to acellerate in those wet conditions from a standstill . That really does make a difference; It's all about traction.
But just take a look at the GC and the sideways fun it is to drive. My dealer's CEO drives one. A bombshell on wheels. A tad too stretchy for my likings though.

Cheers
Robin

GT-R is far more fun to drive than a 135i (I own both) Maybe you just didn't push it hard enough.

Results from a beautifully sunny South African day.
