Tyres
So after just four weeks I have a bulge in my tyre. The dunlops that came on it seem to be in short supply. BMW dealership could only get one direct from BMW at a price of £420!
Managed to get one in the end after a weekend of searching from Tyres4Less who with 130 depots only had one in stock in the whole country for £280. So, if your looking for a 20" Dunlop run flat good luck! |

Seems to be a trend, mine was in at BMW for it's first MOT and failed due to a bulge on the rear passenger side. I replaced both with MPSS's as they haven't disappointed me yet.
They said mine was a pothole impact more than likely. |

Does ditching the runflats have any negative affects on the drivetrain as on my previous x5 they where known to have transfer box and diff problems if ran on non * rated tyres

Not as far as I know, and not sure why that would be, years ago I had a 4wd cavalier that had issues with winding up the drive train if the front and rear tyres wore at different rates and were different circumferences as a result.
On non run flats the car drives as I expect the development engineers intended it to! |
