2016 M6 Coupe Question

Hi guys

I'm being messed about my BMW here in the UK and need a picture of how the 2016 roof trim sits as they are saying the part has changed (no part no change mind) and my now sitting proud of the roof trim is how it is!
The part I am referring to is the black strip either side of the carbon roof which fills the space between the metal body and the carbon roof skin.

My original part sat at the same or slightly lower than the roof skin and the new part sits about 2/3mm proud of the skin so looks odd. It was replaced as the leading edge started to corrode slightly under the black finish as its Ali and not sealed on the cut ends where the end cap trims sit.

Any help would be appreciated as can't find a 2016 car local to me to look at.
