Extended Warranty Prices

My dealer offered me these prices on an extended warranty:

PLATINUM COVERAGE WITH $50.00 PER VISIT DEDUCTIBLE

6/100k $5990.00 plus tax
7/100k $7430.00 plus tax

6/70k $5352.00 plus tax
7/70k $6120.00 plus tax.

Will likely go with 6/70, since I will not exceed 70k miles in the next two years.

Shop around, just got 6/70k platinum for $4927. The prices you quoted are MSRP, but dealerships are free to negotiate.

BMW of Sprinfield, in NJ, and was separately quoted $4950 by BMW of Bridgeport. I had an existing relationship with Sprinfield, hence the final lower price, but I would recommend either dealership. I would not recommend Prestige BMW, as they were unwilling to offer any discount, and they lied to me in the process.

100% BMW NA extended warranty, but you must purchase it from a dealership rather than from NA.

I went to BMW of Towson, Maryland the gave me a $250 discount, plus in Maryland no sales tax, so I save $571.

Folks, certain Lexus Platinum Extended Warranty salespeople will sell you a Lexus plan for your BMW. You can have your car serviced at BMW, of course, under this plan. Rates are about 1k less than BMW with similar coverages. Just paid 3,800 for a plan on my 2014 M6 for 75k or 8 years, whichever comes first. I only put 5k a year on the car so this option made the most sense for me, but many options are available. CALL Toby at Lexus of Shreveport and compare pricing.
