Well, shit. Unless the 2012's have a different steering wheel than the 14's it's safe to say this 2012 I wanted to purchase does not have ACC

First world problems.

Not what you may be looking for. But I found my unicorn: M6 grey black interior, loaded. Even has acc. Can't justify getting rid of my 650i right now though, ugh. http://www.gaultautosportbmw.com/use...4672544390.htm

Stick shift with all black interior. I'm out.
But great find on the ACC. I see the 2014's have a different steering wheel than the 2012-13's which are more in my price range. I'll have to do more digging to see WHERE the ACC button is located on the 12's & 13's (hell even the 2010 apparently had the option for ACC as well)

Here's another one with ACC. But not the exterior color I'm looking for.
OP, maybe you will like this one? https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...odelCode1=650I

I like that a lot surprisingly, although I think the red exterior AND interior is a bit too much for me. I've been focused on a 650i xDrive due to the faster 0-60 (I know it's just a number, I wonder if it makes a difference in the 30-70 mpg range where I really like to stomp on the gas).

I'm still planning on waiting to buy in February when I have $20k to put down, so I know prices may change considerably by then. Although I could afford to get a 2014 650i xDrive w/out ACC I saw online for $41k in a month. If I'm spending up in the $52k+ range I'm still learning towards an F-Type V6 S coupe.

Does anyone know if the base sound system is different between the 2014 and 15? I know the 2015 speakers have the Harman Kardon branding on them, but are the number of speakers/amp actually upgraded?

Edit: It appears code 677 on a 2014 is the 16-speaker system (seems standard on the 650i, requires the Executive Package on 640i). But this doesn't indicate whether the amp and stereo DSP, etc is upgraded on the 2015's.

That's for an M6, which ACC isn't available for apparently (despite the buttons on the steering wheel, the icon on those buttons is different from ACC).

The code for ACC on a 2014 is 5AT (in addition to 5AS driving assistance).

IMHO the 6-series really needs the V8 to move. It's a relatively big/heavy GT, and while it's fair to say it's overkill for the majority of daily driving, when you really want to push the thing (like highway passing), the V8 gets the job done the way you'd expect of a luxury land-yacht.

Don't consider anything prior to the N63TU. The original N63 is a ticking time-bomb.

I've had ACC with stop and go on my last two BMWs (current '17 650xi GC and previous '14 550xi). It's a fantastic feature. Great for relaxing a bit when stuck in creeping bumper to bumper traffic or cruising in light highway traffic. However, if you get medium to dense (but still moving) highway traffic, it's a bit scary and wouldn't recommend using it. Case in point, if your lane frees up but the one next to you is stopped dead, the car will still plow ahead at whatever speed it's set to... whereas an intelligent human would take it a bit slower since cars will unpredictably lurch out in front of you from the stopped lane. So, I'd highly recommend it, but like most self driving "assist" features, you do need to babysit them and know when it's appropriate to use (or not).

If you're getting xDrive, I'd also highly recommend you make sure it's fitted with adaptive drive. I've had it on the past two, and both of these cars are big boys... heavy. The adaptive drive is necessary to firm up the suspension in sporty driving, and the anti-roll stabilization keeps it from becoming boaty in the corners. It's not going to become a sports car, but it makes the car feel a few hundred pounds lighter. IMHO, this is a must have on an xDrive 5 or 6.

If you like sound systems, the B&O won't disappoint - worth the money.

This was also the first BMW I bought with night vision. I didn't know if it would be worth the money, but it already saved my bacon once - paid for itself in just that one instance. I'm a careful driver, but deer jumping out in the dark? Nice to have a "second" set of eyes.

Ok I'm getting a bit confused with the options now. There's 3 cars I'm looking at now that all have various features.

A 2014 650i xDrive that's local and well priced, has Electronic Damper Control and base stereo. I can't figure out if the 2014 base is the same as the 2015 base that was rebranded as H/K.

There's an even cheaper 2014 650i RWD that has Adaptive Drive, IAS, parking assist, as well as the B&O system.

The third car is a 2014 650i RWD that has Electronic Damper Control, B&O and Adaptive Cruise (which is the feature I'm wanting the most but the most rare to find)...BUT it has the older digital instrument cluster which I think rules this out.

Should I surmise that Electronic Damper Control is standard unless Adaptive Drive is an option? I know there's other threads on this, but in your opinion between xDrive, ACC, Adaptive Drive, etc should I prioritize if I can only get one or the other?

One final question for now. When considering a non-M-sport model, what would be the main difference? I see both have the Electronic Damper Control, but the non-M doesn't have the sport automatic transmission. Does that mean only comfort modes are available? Is there a difference in ride height?

Hey, to bring up an old thread, I may take the plunge tomorrow.

Given the option to choose between xDrive or RWD with ACC Stop and Go (but no IAS, parking assist, etc), what would you go with?

I've convinced myself I'd get more use out of ACC than AWD with my traffic filled commute (although only 30 mins long at the most) but still curious to ask the masses.

I've got ACC and want it on all future cars. It's great in roadworks but can consertina in heavy traffic. The human brain can see gaps in cars developing and allow a car to coast when you know the car breaking in front will soon accelerate. ACC obviously doesn't cope with these situations so it slows and then gets on the gas. In light traffic it makes commuting effortless. I had a new 5 series while mine was being serviced last week. ACC and head up display were definitely the features I was missing.

Thanks for the input. I'm a tech nerd so have wanted ACC for years. I figure I'll throw some all-season tires on the car and get the Berger Stage 1 tune and just be happy with RWD. Although I can't actually test drive the car til next so I hope I'm not too disappointed with the electric steering vs hydraulic like I'm used to in my 328i coupe.

So I bought a 2014 Alpine White on black 650i RWD yesterday. It's one of the early 2014 builds so still has the 2013 instrument cluster and steering wheel, I definitely plan on retrofitting the 6WB cluster but don't mind the older steering wheel at all.

It has ACC and Bang and Olufsen. I can't believe people would spend $100k on these cars and not equip the ACC option, they are so hard to find but totally worth it. I'm not too impressed with the B&O with the exception that it can get LOUD and actually gets better the louder you go.

Since the moment I test drove the car, I had no issue going with RWD over xDrive. I was afraid of the electric steering but actually like it a lot (hated it with a passion in a 435i I test drove). I park in a parking deck with some tight turns and don't feel like I'm missing IAS at all, although I could see how the adaptive suspension option might be nice, ACC was what mattered the most to me though.

I'll be on the forums a lot more now, there's a few things I need to code (and figure out how to do it, been so long since I coded my E92). I'm glad to join the F13 family, I have no regrets picking this car over the Jaguar F-type I was considering, especially since I saved a decent bit of money in doing so. Pics will come sooner or later, going to need opinions on if I should vinyl wrap the roof gloss black.

Great stuff, I've got the older clocks and also looking at 6WB retrofit as the price on eBay now seem reasonable. I'm keen to understand if the distance markers look any different/better on the 6WB interface.

The only thing I'd like is having turn signals coded onto the HUD, but with the digital clocks this isn't possible for some reason (no idea why not though).
