M6 competition package
Hi folks - I’m close to pulling the trigger on an M6 competition package. I need to make the final decision tomorrow AM. Would anyone like to talk some sense into me and talk me out of it? I’m half kidding. Any reason you experts know of that I should stay away. Car is basically brand new. 3k on odo. And still under full warranty.

Thanks Rsuhandy! I was more asking because of the sheer impracticality of having a car with 600 hp. The last time I owned an M6, a lady police office wanted to have me spend two nights in jail for speeding

If brake in service was done then enjoy. We do not buy an M to be practical or to save money on gas or MPG =)
Love mine but its winter and she needs to take a long nap. |

I am confused. If you want a practical car, buy a Civic. No one needs to dump $90k into any M cars for practical purpose....
anyways, your biggest risk is that BMW won't sell you extended coverage b/c the car missed it's break in service. Is it a real risk you should care about? I don't know, kind of up to you to decide depending on your ownership horizon. Your car will still be covered under the remainder of the original factory warranty. Aside from this, as with any used car, you still have risks related to undisclosed accidents, lemon titles, etc etc etc etc

Haha. Fair point. I have a camry that I drive around daily. But, I sold my 911 earlier this year and have been itching to get into another 6 series. I had the original 2004 6er when it came back out. And, I had been looking at a 650 or an older M6. This car came along, and I just couldn't help myself
It's a disease man - I can't keep a car for more than 18 months. BTW, It completely slipped my mind, but I should have mentioned it earlier, I am not actually *buying* the car. I am taking over someone's lease midstream. I've given up on the hassles on buying and selling cars. So, I am not too worried about the extended warranty. I started the lease process today, and I got approved in two hours, and have already sent in my stage 2 docs. Hopefully, I should be in the M6 by weeks end. As an side, a local dealership has a gold 2016 M6 sitting on their lot since end of 2015. I made them an offer to take the car of of their hands. The came back and told me the payment would be 2500-3000. *smh* |

My 2017 M6 sat on dealers lot for over a year and I received a 15% discount. This one is 2 years old. I would think more than 15% if dealer wants to move it.
