+ 1 with the speed limit removal, I contacted PP-Performance in regard to the stage 2 kit they sell for our cars. Kit suppose to come with down pipes, race filters (BMC), and stage 2 ecu upgrade for 5499 euros ($6846 in USD). I told them I already have all mods mention above, was just interested in sending my ECU so they can do the stage 2 upgrade. Response was it will take about a week turn around and price was 3499 euros ($4355 USD) just for the upgrade.

And this is ECU only that they claim 800hp. It would b nice to s a dyno sheet.

Oh yeah, hi! I think this is my first post. Just too European delivery on a 2015 M6 GC and I want to make it as fast as possible. I'm thinking about just dropping it off with Hennessey and seeing what he can do with it.

It's really interesting! We had a long discussion about speedo error and many people claimed 5-10% ! I also saw a letter from BMW that up to 10% error is normal and dealer will not touch the car in that range to make correction.
Now, this video... according to BMWUSA, at 6th gear the gear ratio is 0.84 and the rear axle ratio is 3.15. With 295/30/20 tire at 7000 RPM, M6 is able to reach 212 mph (~340km/h)... looks like the speedo is pretty accurate (2% off)...

Anyways, nice to see M6 can reach that speed

I contacted PP-Performance via email a few months ago as from my understanding they actually flash your ECU (unlike other tuners). Only drawback as said above you have to remove and ship PPP your ECUs.

Email communication from PPP wasn't the best meaning they were not very timely in their responses. In some cases I waited 4-5 days for a reply. I am sure they do a great job but with the lack of quick communication it didn't give me a good enough feeling to ship them my ECUs. I really wish they have a US location as I would be down to ship my car to them.

If I remember correctly you also have to put a deposit on a laptop that they send back with the flashed ECUs so they can tune/configure the car once you re-install the ECUs.

Well, I'm not gonna be negative to bash the PPP or any tuner and I'm not against the tuning, but I want to know how safe this tuning is! Talking about safety I'm not talking about how much skill the driver has to control the car at that speed. I'm referring to the safety of car at that speed. For example, are DCT and engine components (ie HPFP) rated to work properly at that speed? or tires! I know our tires are rated to (Y) which is 186+ mph, but how much? I tried to search over the internet and couldn't find the clear answer, but most of the answers are referring to less than 200 mph! Or other components like differential, brakes,... I know the M driver package (which is not offered in US) in Europe, removes the basic speed limiter (155 mph), but put the speed limiter at 186 mph (almost 300km/h) and maybe it's because of tire rating... anyways this car is designed by professional BMW Engineers and if they put high secure codding on ECU to make it hard to be broken and reprogrammed, for sure there is an important reason that BMW does not wants to take the liability of high risk speed limiter removal!
It's good to have speed limiter removal for race track or some straight line measurement but 340+ km/h??? I think it's just useful for people who want to say they have the fastest M5/M6 in the world!!!
