Lease end questions

Within a couple of months I need to make a decision whether to buy my 650i GC. Any tips about buying a vehicle at the end of a lease? The residual is something like 44k. Also the vehicle had two fender benders both times while parked. Not sure if that's something that can be used when negotiating the final price. The vehicle has been trouble free and seems like the most economical way to stay with it at this point. IDK. Any advice highly appreciated...

did the fender bender come up on carfax? If so, it's certainly a point to negotiate, especially since you know exactly what happened and the extent of the damage. It'll be harder for dealer to rep it to the next buyer.

IMO, I doubt dealership will hold on to this car and CPO it due to the accident history.

My caution is, does anyone actually trust owning a BMW V8 out of warranty? (Ironic since I own one myself out of warranty, but M cars are another story altogether). Given the history of N63 and other past V8s, I wouldn't feel too great about owning one in years 6-10.

I'm curious about this too. Has anyone ever negotiated a sale with BMWFS below the residual? There's no guarantee the dealer won't flip the car to the auction as soon as it gets it...

I think for car sales in general, everything is negotiable.
