Euro front seats different from US?
I just put in my first ED order for the M6 GC. I was wondering if there was a difference in the Euro seats compared to the US seats. I've seen some photos of a sportier seat without the fancy headrest. The US models all have the fancy and bulky headrest. I'm just curious if this is a Euro only thing. Here are some photos. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to resize linked photos.

Yes, the US cars don't have the sportier (pointy headrest) seat option due to government regulations. In the US seat the headrest needs to have a special restraint system where the headrest springs forward in the event of a collision to protect the passengers from neck injuries. I think the "pointy headrest" seats look better but the US seats are much more adjustable. I think the US seats are an option in the EU particularly if you opt for the ventilated multifunction seats.

The top picture are the STD seats here in europe , The "Muti-Function Sports seats" are what I have on the LCI M5 which are great 20+ ways of adjustment.
I have them on order for the M6 GC CP also.

I think the STD pointy headrest seats flow better with the overall interior design. Wish these were an option in the US. The Audi RS7 comes with the pointy headrests in the US so I'm not sure why BMW had to comply.

The M3/M4 seats are much lighter than M5/M6 seats and have less adjustment (10-way vs 20-way). The BMW strategy abut M3/M4 is weight saving since those owners are so concerned about weight Look at their forum. There are so many threads/posts/quotes about "weight" and "how much F8x is lighter than E9x and F1x", and since most of them are skilled race drivers, they need light car to be able to get great lap time
