I have never seen a healthy car burn oil like you have stated yours has. Actually this is a common issue for BMWs.

I guess they did a cost analysis on your car and figured supplying you oil is cheaper than the actual fix for it. Not really, factory not dealer said no repair, dealer stepped up on the free oil, not factory.

I would never feel comfortable driving the car any long distance under adverse weather conditions...I disagree, because the use of oil is like the use of gas, slow and predictable. So if I knew I was driving far I would bring extra oil with me (in my BMW oil bag, of course)

LOL - it's enough of an issue that they actually make an oil bag? I don't know if I should laugh or cry? Luckily, my 650 doesn't burn a drop.

The N63/S63 were the biggest pieces of shit ever produced by BMW. I ditched my X5M years ago and it still infuriates me! It didn't burn (much) oil, maybe a quart between oil changes, but everything else in the world went wrong with it.

Well guess you have it all covered. I would still worry about the excess oil consumption prematurely fouling my spark plugs or fouling up my Catalytic convertors. But hey like I said before, That is just me.

Hmm...yeah lol. I'm liking the idea of getting an r8 v10 (plus?) with 12K (between '14-'15 perhaps?) for 80-90K

Heck you can even dabble into Ferraris, Lambos, R8s and some rare model cars. Can I interest you in a CLK 63 AMG Black Series for example? I know, it's not a faster car, but man that thing is a fun beast to drive. How about a R8 V10 with 12k miles?
Hmm...I'm sure those cars are well above 80-90K for '18's.

For OP's price range -- used it the best way to go. Stay away from the '13's for a long term HODL, and how about a C4S? or a 997 Turbo S? I'm sure you can find one certified on porsche's pre-owned website.

Many cars come with a bag for 1 litre of oil. My Mk2 TT came with one in the boot and so did a Golf R I owned.
