► 11 PTT Vs. 13 M6 GC
that is the question...
2011 Panamera Turbo <50,000 miles $150,000+ MSRP 2013 M6 Gran Coupe <40,000 miles $110,000+ MSRP Both in same $40-45,000 buying range. Having owned BMWs for almost 15 years, I am familiar with servicing and repairs so have comfort in that. Only had about 3 years of Porsche Cayenne S ownership so not enough to give me a solid baseline. Also the M6 is only 5 years old vs 7 on the PTT.... Anyone have any experience shopping between these two cars or have recommendation on ownership?

porsche is an awesome engineering machine, awd and a rocket ship.
M6 is a looker, better by light years. personally i would go with Porsche but it would be ridiculously close. what sways me is awd and resale value, plus Porsche driving dynamics. downside is maintenance and repair, Porsche will rape you every single time

Sorry to throw some cold water on your train of thought here, but I'm here to set some expectations.
Firstly, there's no 2013 Gran Coupe model year in the US or Canada. (I understand that early build 14s were assembled in 2013) Secondly, other than buying a really high mileage, or accident/lemon titled car, you're not getting a used Gran Coupe at $40k-$45k. Lastly, if you're asking just the general question regarding .1 Turbo, IMO, it's very outdated. It weighs as much as a M6 GC, but only has 500 HP. I would aim for a .2 Turbo S (2013+) which is the actual direct competitor to the M6, and even at that, I think the M6 does everything better than the Turbo S. So unless you really need an AWD car, I would stick with the M6 GC. Today you can get a 14 M6 GC, that's low mileage and clean for about $55k. And last time I checked, .2 Turbo S is still very much more expensive than a comparable mileage and model year M6 GC.

I spent a week in a 1st gen Panamera and I believe the M6 is far better. Also, the Gran Coupe starts at $115k but most are optioned up ion the uS to the 125-135k range.
