Is there Active Sound in M6 coupe / gran coupe?

Are the M6s equipped with the same active sound (engine sound through speakers) that all the other newer Ms have?

Can it be disabled just as well like the M5s, etc...? (without affecting the sound system)?

Not a fan of any artificial noises any of the performance cars make.

It does and in mine, certainly from idrive it cannot be disabled. Perhaps via coding it can.

Absolutely has it. AFAIK you can disable by unplugging a module in the trunk, or via coding (by Rich). I WILL say, if you leave the stock exhaust, and you normally drive in manual mode, you will miss shifts and hit redline a LOT (at least at first) since you aren't getting the audio cues about engine RPMs the way you're used to I solved that problem with the Turner muffler delete

I don't think my 2015 coupe has active sound, if it has it's very quiet compared to active sound in f80.

@devon - what is the turner muffler delete? Any links? I have the exhaustmeister on mine which is great so I can control and keep the flaps on the stock exhaust open. Still wpuld like it a bit louder though without crazy money. Thanks.

according to the part number..65129289971....it appears that it is not on the gran coupe M6...unless I may be missing something? I can't remember where I read it but this is consistent with what I read on the m6 gran coupe...the m6 coupe on the other hand may have it.

I already think the exhaust note on the M6 gran coupe is understated as it is...it would be a real disappointment if it was amplified as well...then without it, it would be really crappy.
