Question Does putting muffler after cat reduce engine power?

hi guys,

I have a m6 2014 CP, when i bought it, both mufflers are deleted, im looking for a budget solution since the car sound at 102db at 4k rpm, and really dont like to waking up my neightborhood in the morning and at nights, i put one dual muffler in the mid (where the m6 non-cp resonator location is), the muffler is magnaflow 3" dual-in and 3" dual-out (this lowers to 92db, which i like it), muffler size is 14" x 7", my question is putting this dual-muffler in the mid would reduce engine power instead of putting two mufflers (3") separately in the end(more expensive solution)?

i appreciate your inputs!

WOW .. interesting conundrum ... the stock set up was too ZZZzzzzz!

Most of us did Akrapovich, Turner Muffler delete or Eisenmann as this engine is too sedated for sound vs the outgoing V10 in last Gen that I still miss the exhaust note on

I know I have done the Super Sprint catless down pipes (gives you the turbo spool whistle and CEL) and then the Akra Full titanium exhaust ... then Dinan Stage II ... they claim with my set up and Dinan Stage II I am still 25 Hp and 30 ftlb higher than stock with Dinan Stage II set up

The more free flowing the Exhaust seems to free up Hp from what I have seen.

Perhaps those with MUCH More KNOW how then me (Big Brain, M6 Coup ) can Chime in to help!

Enjoy the Addiction Bro ... and you can always Paddle shift to keep the RPMs lower in a higher gear to keep the car quite when need be

hi thanks for the reply!! the thing is that without any muffler when i turn the engine on everybody wakes up including my family haha
putting one muffler in the middle it quiets a lot and i like that sound... but im concerned if that would reduce my engine power...

the letters says "one dual muffler here"
