Battery Issue

Hey all,

I don't drive the M6 much so it has been sitting for several days in this cold weather. I went out today and the battery was dead, but it was able to be jumped and started just fine. I drove it for over an hour, stopped for an appointment, then drove for another 30 mins or so and everything seems to be working fine, with the exception of the power seats which do not adjust. I'm thinking it just needs to be driven more or "reset" itself after being off for a bit. It started right up after sitting for a bit so I'm inclined to think the battery is fine. I've had a few of these cars so I understand there are sometimes "gremlins" that somehow work themselves out. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I have left my car sitting in garage for 2-3 weeks several times when I left the country... up on coming back I had no issue with battery...

Fair enough, but I'm not saying this is happening every time (or ever before with this particular vehicle), but a sample size of one is of limited value.

The cold weather in particular seems to give these cars some trouble related to the battery (I've had this issue with previous BMWs on the east coast, never any problems when I lived in Cali though *sigh*). The dealer has indicated that they see a much higher instance of battery problems in the cold if the car is left sitting.

Regardless, has anyone had an issue with the seats in particular not responding?

Sorry for my ignorance, but does the actual battery have a "Green (charged), Yellow (needs to be charged), Black (battery failure)" status indicator?

When I didn't drive my vehicle for a while, I use a good battery charger (Bosch) that keep it charged. No issues.
