2015 650i Xdrive Cabriolet digital cluster??? Present or absent???
I just picked up my 2015 650i Xdrive Cabriolet. When I test drove the car I drove the 2015 Coupe as the cab wasn't at the dealer.
Loved it and got it with the M-package, etc.. I noticed today that it doesn't have the digital cluster like the coupe I drove. I thought this was standard in the 2015 model year. Can someone clarify for me whether this is the case before I talk to the dealership. is this standard for 2015 cabriolet in Canada. The website in Canada shows the digital cluster in it's pictures. I know there are mid-cycle changes for the 2016 model year in Canada and perhaps this is where the digital cluster appears. Any accurate information or insight would be greatly appreciated. |

oh man, that'd be one disappointing revelation after purchase. my 2015 gran coupe in the US has it if that helps in any way. i didn't even notice the cluster when i bought it, but when i got a 3 series loaner without it, i nearly threw up on the dash

In the U.S., the digital dash only comes on the "M Sport Edition". That's different than the "M-Sport Package". I don't know if the M Sport Edition even comes in X Drive.

That would explain it. Mine has the M-Sport Package and not the M-Sport edition. I'm not a happy camper. I assume mine would still have the 8-speed transmission and not the older 7-speed??

the M Sport Edition includes the M Sport Package as well as the Digital Instrument Cluster and some other goodies, saving lots of money compared to the individual options. shpritz - look at your sticker. Do you have the $3,900 CAD M-Sport Package or $9,200 CAD M-Sport Edition?

I have the M Sport Package, Executive Package, Premium Seating Package, Amaro Brown Full Merino Leather package. I guess that explains why I don't have the digital dash. Goes to show you should always test drive the one your buying before paying. Stock isn't as available up here. Took the Coupe for a test drive that must have had the M-Sport Package and hence the confusion... Figure M is M... I assume everything else is the same though with the drivetrain and transmission?

Yes and personally, for me, I much prefer your dash vs. the gimmicky digital one.

Easy way to find out.
Go to highway ( Motorway or TransCanada) flip the shifter to the left. Accelerate and shift. Keep shifting. See how far it'll go :-) |

Had a peak at the link to the Canadian brochure above.
Does this mean you can't get the 640 either Coupé or Vert in Canada? And all come x-drive only? |

I have a 2014 M sport cab and I love the digital display. It changes based on the driving mode and lighting conditions. I love putting it in sport mode and seeing everything go angry red.

You can easily retrofit it if you really want it. I did this on my car before the msport edition existed.

Dealership came through for me. Threw me a large credit towards the install of DINAN Stage 1 Chip plus/or Exhaust and will do it at cost for my trouble. I can't complain they have been very fair with me. There was confusion between the M-sport edition versus M-Sport Package when it was ordered. I like the analog dash and would prefer a little louder exhaust so I am a happy. Love the car. It is a bit of a pig on gas. Probably the extra weight of X-drive.

And those 2 extra cylinders!
Sounds like a good dealer wanting to keep a customer happy. Good for you. |

LOL. Didn't bother me that much. All my previous BMW's have had their Analog display. The Red display in Sport would have probably made me crazy at night. Dealership came through so I am a happy camper again.
