Hope u didn't get the tune based on BS feedback from Mr. Karim's claim that it adds like a few hundred HP! The white wrap he's planning on getting for his car probably has better odds of adding serious HP than this ridiculous tune he's been pushing on this site - Mr. Karim, you work for BMS??

So disappointing. Wonder if they accept returns. I have yet to install mine. So much for their claim of 630whp.

Agree the claims are off based on what you saw, but I'm fairly certain the claims are made off 93 octane. As well, the delta of 50HP is from a dynojet, not a mustang dyno, which reads lower. Even with both of those considerations, you'll probably end up a bit lower than 50, but I think that explains a bit. Plus all cars are different.

The claim is 50whp but OP's results were grossly under that. I was expecting something along the lines of 35-40whp over stock at least. I'm a bit reluctant to even install mine now.

BMS is set to +2.25 PSI over stock by default (+2.25 psi is for 91 octane).
You can plug the tune to the laptop and change it to +2.5 PSI over stock (+2.5 psi is for 93 octane).
You can also set it to +3 PSI over stock (+3 psi is for 94-100 octane), and there is a huge difference between 2.25 and 3, try that. I will dyno my car very soon, and post my results.

KKABBA do you want to talk about that bro? You need a bro hug?

Looking forward to your dyno sheet Karim. I think I'm gonna go dyno mine bone stock this weekend, then without the charcoal filters, and one last run with BMS. Depending on the difference between each mod I'll decide whether or not to keep the BMS in.

Honestly my advice you didnt ask for, I wouldnt. Barely tell the difference plus Dinan's tune is 2-4 weeks away. They're close to releasing and you know what they claim will be AT THE VERY LEAST what you will gain. Plus full warranty and u can always sell the car with it, service with it etc.....
I hear you.

No, it's set to 2.25psi by default. Terry tested M5 on 100octane with +3psi.
I had a bad experience with Dinan, didn't get much gains with my 750i.
Also, you still get better numbers than competition package for under $500.
I say, change your psi lvl to 2.5-3, but you won't be able to use 91 octane no more.

About the only issues with the Dinan flashes has been shops that don't install it correctly. And yes, there have been a few shops that have a record on consistently installing it wrong. In all cases that I've heard, when the customer went to Dinan itself, things got corrected.

I don't really have anything for or against Dinan or BMS, but on a $100k+ car about the only piggyback type of tune I'd be comfortable with is one where they piggyback a new ECU, one that can adapt in real time to engine/conditions. Those are going to be more expensive than the Dinan, and have no warranty.

That said, there is no denying that BMS has a good record (and reputation), but again in the realm of $100k+ cars I have to ask if it's truly wise.

PP-Performance is one of the worlds best imo, I don't see it in Canada.

I have emailed Terry at BMS numerous times regarding the boost setting. His response has always been (and this was asked again last week thru email because they never call anyone) do NOT adjust the boost setting.
So, who is adjusting the setting and to what ? Terry at BMS says the control units are pre-set and the ONLY change that is to be made is the "Feature user from 0 to 1"

Regardless, these ECU's are difficult for tuners to create performance software for, we all know that.
Anyone who has modded their cars in the past know that correct software is KEY to any add on's. Regardless of who's setup is putting out what.
BMS is an in-expensive upgrade when there is nothing else available on the market.
Even though I have never been a fan of "piggyback" setups BMS produces great gains on N54 engines and is user friendly which is cool.
I would rather have support and warranty backing by a big name tuner like Dinan and have the peace of mind everything will be ok, especially for a car under warranty.

He said it was ok. Most BMS users change boost settings every time. I say +2.5PSI is good for driving in a city, and + 3-4PSI for the track.
Also, I don't understand why anyone would use 91 octane on M6

We have don't have 93 at the pumps in California.
I have emails from Terry saying DO NOT ADJUST so I don't know who is telling you this. Don't say most users because that's just someone making their own decision, not who created the file.
Someone needs to post up a dyno run with their settings adjusted higher and maybe it will end all the questions.
I'm not going to raise the settings and cause something to fail in the engine. Who's going to back that repair up at the dealership ? Not BMS.

True, I'd use 100octane, but 94 is the best available fuel in Canada

And what is that supposed to prove ?
A picture of an M5 with words under saying JB4 and 100 octane.

You would think that since BMS is in California and knowing that pump fuel is 91 here. That if they wanted specific settings to be adjusted by us the user based on fuel octane, it would be in some type of instructions or something document at least.
Seems simple enough.
I'm done ranting
