Lowering

I'm deciding to lower my ride.

I found some springs and I'm currently speaking to the seller about how many inches it lowers the car. He says it lowers the front 1.2" and the rear 0.4".

Since you guys are more experienced with lowering, I'm looking for some insight before purchasing. Am I wasting my time purchasing it? Because to me 0.4" on the rear doesn't seem like much of a difference being that the rear is so tall compared to the front's ride rake.

0.4" is really too little to make it worth the effort. i have H&R springs on my 650GC and while the whole thing is appreciably lower, another half inch in the front and quarter or half in in the rear would have been much nicer. of course, you'll have to look up how much H&R lowered my car, as i don't know exactly. what, 1.0" or 1.1" probably all around

I told him I'm looking to go 1" lower and I was told going too low can cause electrical problems?

They're H&R springs btw.

I commented in your other post as well.......

Looks to me like he just wants to sell you his springs and will say anything it takes to do so ! Most of us lower our cars about an inch with no problems whatsoever. I also have 10MM spacers in front and 12MM spacers in the rear....no issues, no rubbing.

Do yourself a favor and look for springs elsewhere.

Just HR springs from tire rack and its 1" all around.

Ride is stiff as all hell!! Some days I like it and most I don't lol
But when I get out and turn around it makes it all worth while

Lol, making me think about going 1" lower all around.

Alternatively the 650 is taller than the M6 anyway.

I am going with the KW HAS>

Every car I have dropped with springs all ride so damn stiff and that defeats my want for a lower car.

Guys that have the KW HAS please chime in and share what the ride quality is, all I have read has been positive.

I've heard it ride really well and, I've also heard they don't have an option for the xdrive.

I'm sorry that I was misunderstood by posting in the M6 forum but, I have the xdrive 650.

I just know folks in the M6 forum would have an answer for me.

Just look for H&R springs on their website...you cannot go wrong with it. Those springs are designed for your car unless you have c aggressive offset after market wheels.

I did and their setup is 1.2" in the front and 0.4" in the rear. I don't think it's worth it as 0.4" looks really unnoticeable on the rear being that it's so tall.

I have the M5 wheels on.

I think it's because if xDrive. I noticed xDrive springs option is different from RWD.
Have u seen xDrive lowered in real?

Yeah, I follow a few folks on instagram like @416.Jay and his car is xdrive and lowered more than 0.4" in the rear.

Also on my thread "Post the best pic of your 650" there are xdrive models there running H&R springs as low as 1.5".
