An odd query...

But why did BMW give the passenger a proper door handle in leather and the driver some little black handle to close the door from the inside?

I noticed this "oddity" at the weekend when I got in the passenger seat and grabbed hold of the nice handle wondering where the mine was...

Severe OCD I know!

My humble opinion is that a proper handle on the drivers side would impede access to the controls on the armrest.

Nice looking interior. Mine is black and seems a little too dark to me.

The passenger uses that handle to hold on for dear life! The driver has hands on the steering wheel ;-)
