How are some puny little engines sounding so loud and mean lately?

I've been noticing a lot of modified exhausts on these random puny engine cars that are so loud and throaty. Cars like Porsche Boxsters, Jaguar F-Type V6, Panamera GTS, etc. sound like rumbling V8s. Is it the catless downpipes that achieve this result? I have yet to really hear a M6 up close with catless downpipes. If anyone with catless DP is near downtown LA, please show me

I'm across the water from you but my setup of Catless downpipes and full Akro is really really loud on startup, burbling on tickover when warmed up and barks very loud when you step on it. My old SC Holden LS3 with straight pipes was not as loud!! 😎
