Finally got an M6!!
Hi guys,
After spending at least 6 months looking for an M6 GC here in the UK I finally found the perfect spec and pulled the trigger. It's a 2014 M6 Gran Coupe with the following spec: - San Marino Blue - LED Headlights - Carbon Ceramic Brakes - Bang and Olufsen speaker system - Full black merino leather - Alcantara headlining - M-multifuntion steats - 4 zone climate control - Seat heating rear - Individual reading lights - Through loading - Speed limit display - Soft close doors - Comfort access - Rear camera with surround view (I think that's everything) I absolutely love the car and SMB is gorgeous. Coming from an E60 M5 it is a completely different beast. The old car had an amazing sound which is why I loved it. This car is just beautiful, I have a beaming smile every time I look at it. The car was originally an ex-demonstrater from BMW in Scotland so it was quite a drive back to Hampshire, I have to say though the M Multifunction seats paid dividends and the B&O system is amazing. Having spent months looking at the UK market (Which has very few high spec M6 GC's I'm glad I didn't settle for less and waited Here are a few mandatory iPhone pics I have to say I will miss the sound of the E60 M5's V10. I quite like the M6 on a cold start, it has a nice rumble to it but after that it is silent. What's a good exhast system that's loud and doesn't drone? I'm also looking at a carbon fibre lip spoiler by RW Carbon. Does anyone have experience with this company and the quality of their products? I'd like to add a lip spoiler just to finish the rear of the car. |

Congratulations!! the SMB is beautiful and CCB's are sweet - great specs!
Re exhaust - Akra evo titanium (a/k/a M Performance Exhaust) is a great choice... excellent sound that's not too loud and absolutely no drone. It is pricey at retail but you might be able to find a used system around 50% of retail. |

Congratulations bro!!! Huge difference between this and the previous EXX. I definitely miss 2 things, that glorious sound of the V10, and that I will always miss, and of course, 6 speed, which I miss terribly. Having a manual, a true manual, makes this into a completely different car. No matter how good the performance is, I still prefer the true manual. Not having it definitely takes some of the fun out of it for me. I'd gladly sacrifice some of that performance for that 3rd pedal. Regardless, I still love it and have no regrets. At least my girl can drive it if she chooses to.
Great color choice BTW. I have the same and its absolutely stunning. I receive so many compliments on the color. Not too many people know what an M is, but everyone knows that color. Best of luck with her and enjoy!! |

Congrats,
Would you be able to share the price? It's no big deal but I am just curious to see how much we can but these cars cheaper in US. I believe this car would be in high 60k or low 70 (USD) here with decent mileage (30-40k)

Sure, this car has 20500 miles on it and I paid mid £40k for it. That's UK pounds. I have to say though I did get a very good deal on this car considering the spec and condition.

Wow yeah you are right. with the current rate it's 50k (USD) which is a lot less expensive than the same car here... Enjoy the beast buddy...

E39 is a classic. I love that car. At the time, I got my first bmw ever, an 02 540i 6 speed. God did I love that car. I really loved it. My first bimmer. I was torn between that and an M3 that they had sitting in the showroom. A decision that always will leave me wondering. Anyway, my 540 was that same color, and I remember always thinking I should have purchased that M3 at the very least, but that m5 for sure. The M5 was just a tad too pricey for me at the time. I could have afforded it, but it wasn't a very wise choice. The V8 in this car is really special, however it's way too reserved, soundwise.

Anyway I had a look at your recent thread in regards to the vandalism on your car. That is absolutely disgusting, it seems to be becoming a real issue in the UK. I have had my previous M5 keyed on two occasions and that really made me go nuts let alone have the whole rear window smashed and need the CF roof replaced. I hope everything works out okay. |

Thanks, i d get a warranty if its not got one, you can get a quote on line at bmwwarranty.
As for my car, its wont be back before early May, all 60 odd parts bar the rear door cards are available, the door cards have no delivery date. BMW GB are not being helpful in the least. Currently running around in a brand new E Class Merc from Enterprise that not that nice to be honest, suffice to say i want my M6 back asap. |

Rear spoiler
I've sourced an OEM M performance spoiler for the M6 (Part number: 51622327610) The dealer has confirmed the part will fit my M6GC however I'm not sure how it does. On the images I've seen online the boot lid of the M6 coupe looks different to the M6GC i.e it doesn't have an integrated spoiler.
Pics (This is my car with its integrated spoiler) This is the image of the part on an M6 Coupe Maybe it's just me but it doesn't look like the part will fit hopefuly you guys can shed some light |

Your car doesn't have an integrated spoiler. It's just a crease in trunk. The spoiler sits behind the crease on that sloping bit of trunk. The convertible is different but coupe and GC are the same.

Congrats on the car! I'm considering a 2014-2015 M6 GC as well (or the X5M)...
I LOVE the look of the Ceramic Brakes... however they scare me bc of the costs... my own BMW Service Manager says to stay away!! but i never listen to just 1 perosn and instead want to form my own opinion... so your thoughts on the Brakes? Did you get them checked prior to purchase? the expected Life of them or the actual life as they have been out for few years nbow? Do you feel it will hurt the resale of your car -2,3,4 years down the road? Bc that car in 4 years may be a $25k car with $17k brakes? I'm really want ceramics IF i go the M6GC route -- but I just want to make sure my service advisor is wrong your thoughts please!
