Gran Coupe w/22s lowered on H&R

Guys, so my Gran Coupe is being lowered (as we speak) on H&R springs. I took a few shots before, and will post the post-install pictures in a few hours.

Here are the pre-install pictures. (sorry my car is dirty after the rains)

Just got home and its dark. I will have them up in the AM tomorrow.

Overall gotta say that the amount of lowering is good. The rear has no gap between the tire and the bottom of the fender. The front has about a 1 finger gap. Considering that the car hasn't settled yet, I think it will come out nice.

As for the ride quality ... seems a bit more spongy in my opinion. When I was running the 22s on the stock suspension, it was a nice, yet firm, ride. Now, the ride is still very comfortable, but at times a bit bouncy.

When I set the car to sport mode, its firms up and less bouncy. Dont get me wrong, the car rides awesome and the springs are great, but I wish the rebound of the shock was a bit better. I guess thats what you get when you lower a car on stock shocks.

To educate some people, when you lower a car on stock shocks, there can be (at times) a big difference in the shock travel. yes I know that its lower, etc etc ... but depending on how a shock is valved can have a dramatic difference in the characteristics of the handling/ride/etc.

Dont know if Im going to get coil-overs, but I can pretty much guarantee that if I went to coil-overs, you eliminate the "bouncy" feel that I got.

if anyone is considering the H&Rs .. I give it 4 of 5 stars. If you plan on tracking the car, then dont get the H&Rs, but for "enthusiastic" street driving, they are great.

Pics will follow tomorrow morning (PST).

Here are the post-install pictures. Personally I think the lowering is great for 22s. If I had to change one thing, it would probably be to lower the front justa bit more, but other then that its awesome.

No rubbing at all.

Let me know what you guys think. Yes, yes .. I know the car is dirty. Hopefully I will get it washed this weekend take some better pics.

Once again, props to Need 4 Speed Motors. They are great!

Looks much better with the drop. The wheels looked too big without them. Now they look perfect!

Looks waaaay better with the drop...even more necessary on such big wheels...once they settle it'll be perfect!

Not a fan of the M emblem on the grill...even with the M-Sport pack

3rd to last pic in the "after" section looks to me like you're going to have a little problem with speed bumps or anything else that causes more than about an inch of wheel travel.

I had 2 people in the back with about 3/4 gas in the car this past weekend. Overall, no rubbing in the front and a (rare) rubbing in the back. Since the inside of the whee well is already rolled and has felt, then there really is no damage at all.

This is clearly not a road-trip type car... it was never intended for that.

Usually the front is lower than the rear but this looks opposite.

Nice ride.

The rear fender cutout is lower then the front. Its an optical illusion. I checked the height and its actually a bit higher in the back.

The wheels are a bit too big and looks out of proportion...... Yes, the wheels are very noticeable that way, but probably a bit much....... Maybe 21"?

The wheels are great! But on the side view, the huge wheels take away too much focus from the gorgeous silhouette of the GranCoupe.........

Brake upgrade! Those rims make the brakes look so small.

So if "not a road-trip type car" then what is it intended for? Just curious.
