That doesn't look like a standard wind blocker, any chance of a close-up and info?

Big mistake - the first moment I gripped (or tried to grip) the steering wheel when I took delivery, I kenw I'd never get on with that fat rim. I have average size hands but I can't get my fingers far enough around the wheel for comfort - always felt like I was steering with just my palms as opposed to hands.
The newer 3 spoke sport steering wheel is a bit thinner than the original M Sport Steering wheel. To be honest, I preferred the thicker version that we had in our e70 X5 but for those the prefer something in-between, the 3 spoke might be the way to go.

That clarifies it, thanks. It's because you have the window up that gives the illusion of a transparent wind blocker behind the front seats.
If you don't have one I'd highly recommend it. The factory item is made of a nylon mesh which flips up behind your head and significantly reduces air recirculation and buffeting with the roof down.
