You can certainly place a buy order at $528 before the market opens... it just won't fill because the stock will open at $580.

I was looking at GOOG trading through out the day today and am really kicking myself in the ASS for not picking up any calls today.

Those $590 calls of which were $.83 today will most likely open up over $12 tomorrow on options expirations day. Those that bought will make bank on them calls tomorrow.

I'm looking at the BIDU calls now. MCP may also do well.

It's crazy though, $65 increase per share.... And this is the first time I've wondered about buying after hours so I don't know the ins and outs of the after hours trading rules.

Yeah I've been long GOOG for a little while now. I bought when it had a little dip after the last earnings. Even at low $500s I thought it was a good buy considering financials. I didn't expect the news yesterday to be so big though. Pleasant surprise.

BIDU calls should not be too bad. I like OXY for this quarter. They report on or around the 29th of July. I will be buying some OXY calls.

Been doing really bad past couple of months
I've been lazy, inattentive, not aggressive...missed out on a lot of sick money makers (NFLX for one)

Markets in the upcoming weeks will mostly be dominated by the debt ceiling talks. No deal in sight so I won't be going long.
