I love the exclusivity of a 6er full stop as you do not see that many on the roads, but what next? This is my third 640d on contract, I absolutely love them, the interior the looks.. nothing comes close. I hate the 4 series coupe because the interior is so cheap and as much as I love how the 8 series is shaping up I am not prepared to pay £1300 a month for one!

So true, i hardly see F13s on the road as it is and when i do i can't help drool.
That's a good point - have you thought about buying one outright when the time comes? Minor bumper / headlight tweaks is the only thing that separates the F13 over the years so you could pick up a 3-4 year old one when it's already taken the big hit on depreciation. When i bought mine i asked the dealer for costing to facelift my headlights. They said it can't be done but i'm not so sure if I believe them! |

Mine is an F06 so not entirely gone yet. But i love mine minus the driver's window which is having a minor issue with stopping halfway and dropping in auto mode (minor problem) been reset once so clearly a clearance type issue.
I have been doing a similar level of thinking and nothing in the bmw range i could hand on heart say i would buy at a similar price point. I would love an I8 but there is the cost of entry problem. I think unfortunately the 6 sales just did not stack up well and i do not forsee much of a future for the big 6gc either. The other issue in the uk is size, the 6 is big enough as it is lord knows what the size of the 8 is going to be like. I think the only true car i would say i would buy at a similar level is a Lexus RC (more precisely the RC F). Which makes me somewhat sad. I have to say though i did have a feeling for the GC it was going to be a short lifespan. The 6 whilst beautiful just puts so many off by the sheer size in the UK and some the cost. I have never heard a bad comment about the design but the two points above i have and more so the size aspect regarding somewhere to park the sod. In fact we are looking to move and garage space is being a huge issue for the car as UK garages rarely are long enough for the big beast. |

I have a little time before I hand her back.. March 2020 and I do have the option to extend.
I have thought about buying a pre registered or year old outright but the mileage I pile on and the running cost with tyres and servicing and maintenance plus interest charged on the finance works out not far off it is to have a new one. Although after this I may have no choice but to look at a used 6 coupe or GC! Its odd, Lexus or Audi have never appealed to me, nothing in their ranges would make me smile every time I saw it. I have to admit... the 6 is wide and long which I have a love/hate depending how tight the road is. You get use to the length and width (thats what she said), it?s only when you sit behind another 6 on the road you realise just how wide and low they really are! Maybe a pre registered or year old 8 or an i5 might be within reach by 2020!

Anything is possible with enough $$ but to me that's the point. The freshing of the 6'er is very minor and not too easy to even notice the difference. Better mod money can be spent going other directions.
