Tanzanite or Imperial Blue?
I'm thinking either Tanzanite or Imperial Blue in an M6 Gran Coupe. I'm worried the Imperial Blue will look black most of the time. Does anybody have experience with it "in the flesh"?
And to be honest, I think the carbon fiber roof is cool looking, and I want more contrast between the rest of the car and the roof. Not sure it will stand out enough against the Imperial Blue. I mean, I don't want the car to be too flashy, but I'm paying for that carbon fiber and it's unusual.... Any experience or thoughts would be appreciated. |

You get the CF roof no matter what, but yeah it's cool looking. Trust me, no matter what color you have, you will see that top is different than the rest of the car. Mine is black and it stands out.

Thanks! It's helpful to hear that the contrast between navy or black or anything and the CF is clear.
Now I just have to get my wife to agree she won't complain in passive-aggressive ways about the check I'm going to write for this thing -- but that's a topic for another thread.... |

Not to knock Imperial Blue - very cool color, however, Tanzanite is an individual color an is much deeper and has a more complex paint process. Once you have seen it in person, it is really hard to go with any other blue (IMHO). It makes Deep Sea Blue (a color Tanzanite is closer to) look like a non-metallic color it has so many flakes in it!
These pictures don't do it justice - but they were inside at a dealer in Toronto on a 7-series.

Bro- forget the blue. Be bold. Get yourself some Austin yellow goodness
(In all seriousness I'd go with tarzinite blue)

Thanks. The Tanzanite color on the 7 does look great. Very rich but more sober than a brighter blue.
The Austin Yellow takes a special kind of self confidence. Maybe I need one of those chromed Hamann ones. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YkzCNfZvRl...Widebody_4.jpg |

I have the Tanzanite Blue. With the sun out the car sparkles. At night it does almost look black. I like it. Not 100% blown away but a nice classy color.
