Is there any update for my car?

Since I´m still a fairly new F13 owner I need some help here. I have entered my VIN on the bmw.com/update and here it how it reads (see pic).

I have transferred it to a USB and plugged it into my car but the car says that there is no update on the stick..

Somebody who knows please explain

This is still on my to-do list. Only got mine last month, 2012 640d f13

I wonder if anything is worth doing, mine is running nice and smoothly i dont want to update & it become slow or buggy. Iphone updates slows your phone down to aid sales of the new release. I'm quite paranoid about any software update now, especially if the hardware could potentially not keep up!

My dealer said that it is good to update if you have experienced problems with bluetooth and so on...But I what I don´t understand if there is any update for my car based on the print screen

I don't think it can recognize a large USB stick. Find a small one (I have like a 128MB one laying around that I use - OMG, I just looked, it is a 32MB one!).

Either way however, I had the same experience - said no update.

Hi, did update today on 2012 F06 640d, noticed that Bluetooth audio connection was faster, not sure if anything else feels better,
Also did Satnav update to Europe 2016-2, same, no difference, no doubt maps have been updated.

Sonny - Yup, same as print screen, however, i had to use the central armrest USB rather than glovebox USB.

How does this work, after you have updated the car and go to bmw.com/update and enter your VIN, what happens then?

Hi guys, I just tried the same update on my MY14.5 640i GC, I got the message that the update was not compatible with my vehicle despite it downloading after I entered my VIN. WTF? Why does nothing just work????

its all a bit odd as my MN version number starts with a 3 and the latest offered on BMW website only starts with a 2 ??

if you go to your version for Bluetooth and media etc the version codes start with MN and then either 1, 2 or in my case MN-003

But the current update on bmw.com/update only mention updates up to and including MN-002.

It's changed when it went in for a connected drive issue.

Went in for a service a couple days ago. They 'carried out programming to the vehicle to enhance activation of the heated rear window'

Can i view software version on idrive? i'll post back with what they are.

You would think a dealer would at least have put the latest version!

Flash programming vehicle (ie ECU updating software/firmware) will update Bluetooth Communication and Media as well. The latest releases for NBT is the following:

NBT_N16094A: MN/TN-003.011.002 (ISTA-P v3.59.5)
NBT_???????: MN/TN-003_013_001 (ISTA-P v3.60.0)

Those are both newer than what is found on Bmw.com/update

From the map screen, select options > scroll to bottom > select version.

It will look something like:

North America
BMW Group
111152.3.111
Road Map NORTH AMERICA Next
2017-1

NBT_M15392A

Or, from Settings > Software Update, you can also select update or check version. It will look something like:

Veh. ID: Short VIN
Tel: TN-003_013_001
Media: MN-003_013_001

this may be basic, but did you make sure the files are on the root of the USB and not in a folder? your idrive can only pulls files from the root.

this is also interesting, I was always wondering if there is an update to idrive, engine, transmission, etc as I understood that there are updates as well..Is there any way to find it out?

USB updates are just for Bluetooth Media and Communication. Flash programming is required for other system. But, there are no release notes so you could gain improved performance or lose features.

Root directory of FAT32 formatted USB
