Stock pirelli's simply not cutting it!

Having major traction issues with stock pirellis on my 14 M6 CP (and that's even before adding Dinan or BMS which I plan to do asap). Car simply does not put down power in 1st and 2nd. I've done a lot of research on this issue and, unfortunately, it's very difficult to find any drag radial tire that will fit stock wheels. I've found this one - Nitto NT05, it has gotten pretty good reviews. Now my question is, will these tires fit stock 20's 275/40 front and 305/30 rear? That's pretty close to stock.

Your front rims are 9.5" wide and the rear one is 10.5" so you are basically good to go upto 285 in front and 305 in rear! Recently I installed PSS 305/30/20 in rear with no issue. I couldn't find PSS 275/35/20 for front so I got the original one(265/35/20).
Just keep in mind the 275/40/20 makes the total diameter of your front wheels about 1.35" (5%) taller than stock!

Edit: Nitto NT05 is most likely track tire! You might experience some issues in wet roads regarding to handling and traction. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport (PSS) is the best tire for this car (IMO). It is a high rated tire you may need to try.
See this for PSS : http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...er-sport-tires
And see this for NT05 : http://www.nittotire.com/race-tires/...g-radial-tire/

Thanks for the recommendation M6-coupe. I was definitely considering Pilot Super Sport, I'm just afraid it won't be a big upgrade from the Pirelli Pzero. I don't generally drive in the rain with the M6, so I want something that's really going to hook up and make the most of the Dinan tune.

You may want to ask @Fantasm ! I know he has the same tire (Nitto) installed in his M5!

I think at the end of the day, no tire of truly going to cut it for our cars. Rear wheel drive with a ton of torque.

I have the Pilot Super Sports on mine and am wanting to switch from them to something else.

If you want maximum traction in the lower gears, semi slicks are probably the only option. Otherwise, the Michelins and the Pirellis are going to be as good as it gets (unfortunately).

Has anyone tried Pirelli P Zero Corsa? Looks like it's far superior in terms of traction to regular Pirelli P Zero.

I have 325 rear P-Zeros on my ADV.1s and I can say traction is much improved over the stock Michelin or Pirellis.

Twitch it's because of the wider size! I feel better traction compare to stock since I had 305 installed

I don't think you are going to find any tire that "hooks" out the gate on this car. I imagine even drag radials are going to cause some slippage as the power this car makes is extreme.

You can look into Mickey Thompson ET Street IIs as they released 19-20" sizes recently but I don't know the widths available. The thing is drag radials are not really meant for everyday driving so keep that in mind.

Old topic, but bringing it back to life. Cannot get Pilot Super Sports anywhere! Out of stock.

So, I'm switching to a 305 rear tire and having to go to the P Zero. Wasn't wanting to, but the Pilot Sport Cup 2 is also out of stock.

Hopefully, the 305 rears will help give me a bit more grip than the 295s.

Is your car lowered ?

Mine's lowered 3/4" and I wonder if the 305"s will work OK....

No my car is not lowered but I'm sure it works out even if you have lowered the car. The difference between 295 and 305 is 5 mm outside and 5mm inside. There is lots of room at suspension side so there is no issue for inside rubbing ... 5 mm outside is negligible too as you can see in pictures
