new guy with a Gran Coupe

I've been shopping around for some time now but I just picked up a 2014 6 GC

2014 640i xDrive Gran Coupe -- Imola Red

MSRP $86,825
Selling price: $69,000 (including un4gettable voucher)
Residual: 55% (15k mi/yr)
MF: 0.00081 w/ 7 MSD
Monthly: $696 before tax

$0 down other than the MSDs and standard title/license fees.

Initially I was looking for an F15 but the payments would have been $150 higher for an MSRP of $67k. I shopped over 70 dealers before I got this deal and I couldn't say no. I wasn't crazy about the Imola Red but its definitely growing on me.

Seriously...wrong color to avoid attention. I was set on wrapping it the day I took delivery but decided against it.

Something tells me you will grow to like it. The comments are addictive. I've never bought a car for someone else to be wowed - my cars are for me (as witnessed by my X6 lease that had 50% of the people out there scratching their heads).

But wow, the looks, the comments. Wow, wow wow. And even when this color is dirty, people ask "is this car new? It is so clean!"

+1. Seeing a red GC is as rare as a Lambo or a Ferrari. There are only a dozen GC floating around KC, I got the only red one. The other guys got white and black. I do like the comments and jaw drops.

When they called me up to the counter at Discount Tire yesterday they said "Your Ferrari is ready sir". I did point out that it was Imola Red - so sort of Ferrari ish?

High profile isn't always a bad thing and not to worried about the cops.

With Imola Red gives you the better option of being seen by seniors and the many distracted drivers.

I have to thank TonySCV for pointing out the $7,500 Manufacturer to Dealer incentive that was available until 9/2. Unfortunately, that deal is no longer available.

The car is beautiful and the color is stunning and will attract attention. Depending on how you drive, since the cops WILL see you, you may need to invest in some fancy warning devices.

Hmm...don't know on that. Got a similar great deal on a 2014 650ix Gran Coupe also and took delivery a week ago. Ended up around $12k off the sticker and my BMW CCA Rebate also. Like the OP couldn't say no to that one and took the last '14 Gran Coupe on their lot. Mine was Carbon Black Metallic...somewhat better than Imola Red. Great cars tho. Congrats.

LOL. I can see that from an untrained eye, especially if it's lowered and someone looking from far away. The human brain fills in the lines to make sense of it to think it's a Ferrari FF, since a 4-door 6 series in Ferrari red (which is very close to Imola red tint) doesn't compute.

That's about normal right now. The remaining '14 GCs on the lot have been sitting for 6+ months so dealers have an incentive to move them. I think some dealers are taking a loss unless they have an incredible holdback from BMWNA.

Got it. Glad I walked in the dealership when I did. Checked with dealer and had them pull the records before purchase when we were doing the deal...Car's production date was Oct 2013 and arrived in port in CA around Nov 2013; so its been there awhile. Not sure what the holdback was from BMWNA but yes dealer was motivated to move the car. Sticker was $103k so I got a little over 10-12% off with money thrown into my trade/lease as well and $$ up front I did.
