Redesigned 5 series

The rear reminds me a lot of the VW CC.

The concept version was really nice, this, to me just looks too similar to the 5series and not nearly enough coupe-like.

meh. When it's not in photoshopped BMW production pictures, it looks pretty mundane. The wheels are certainly not helping the cause.

Cheers,
Tony

I still don't understand why the heck they didn't call this a sedan. It is quite stupid.

Wow awesome!! Have to see this in flesh.. Somehow the headlights are begging for some facelift.. Check out the wallpaper nr106, in this drawing the car looks much more aggressive in the front IMO.

I think on the road it will look a lot better. Just like the 6 series it looks ok in pics but on the road it does stand out.
THEY SHOULD JUST CALL THIS 6 SERIES SEDAN. IT'S SPORTY BUT COMMON, A 5, 6 AND 7 SERIES SEDAN? REALLY? ARE THEY THAT MUCH DIFFERENT IN SIZE WISE?

I kinda agree. I think the whole "Gran Coupe" range is weird. Firstly, a 6 series is a 5 series coupe basically. So does that mean the 6 GC is really a 5 series with 1 less seat in the back? Let's not forget the 5GT and upcoming 3GT wtf?

I would have liked it more if it was as bold as the CS Concept. That was perfect honestly! I still think the 6GC will look good but not as nice as it could have been, it's very sedan-like. IMO the A7 is ugly but the CLS63 looks great and I'm not sure I'd take the 6GC over it.

"Not a four door coupe"?

Check the name of this model...

Helluva thing to do to a fine looking coupe.

This should be the new 5 series...

/wobbles checks his shirt pocket ... nope. Not there.

Goes on to check the pockets on his pants ... nada.

Gives himself a pat-down ... zip.

Looks like I'm simply not feeling it.

This unbadged model shown is clearly a base 640i version... The M6 / 650i w/LED and M-sport pkg will be where its at anyhow!

I don't think BMW or even Mercedes was/is trying to keep up with Audi at all. I think if anything the GC is BMWs answer to the CLS.

The 650i Gran Coupe seen here is on it's compulsory Winter Tyres - hence why the car is less cosmetically attractive.

Is it confirmed that a ///M version will come out?

Plus, I don't see why everyone is flaming on it... Did they not see the title "first time spotted in public" obviously this is the dimmed down version, of what people expect it to be.

Say what you will, that car looks even more dull and vapid in real life photos than in promo pics. And those '06 325i wheels are just atrocious.

Something like the Panamera is fugly but at least it's different, which makes it interesting. The grand "coupe" is forgettable, boring and in no way a coupe. It's not ugly, it's not beautiful, it's just completely inane.
