M6 Gran Coupe order placed....

Couldn't resist an M6 Gran Coupe after having an F10 M5 so ordered and deposit down...September 1st delivery!

Was a bit undecided on colour combo to start with but settled on Singapore Grey with Sakhir Orange extended Merino leather, carbon fibre trim.

Have loaded it with options but might add some more...

Anyone had/used the Night Vision with pedestrian recognition?

Congrats on the Car.
Night Vision total wast of money mate , if a dear charges out close to you, you've hit it before the warning.
The car comes with LED Adaptive Head lights, if you can't see with those you should not really be driving IMO.

Thanks...we get a lot of dear here in Lincs . I was interested to see how good it could be in picking up cars coming the other way or potential hazzards like cyclists but like you say the LED lights should be more than up to the job unless the radar can see around bends!

Other thoughts were lane change and lane departure warning? I was going to spec them just for the novelty and see if they really are any use but again if you need these on an M6 GC then you shouldn't be driving one!

Lane Change warning is OK but not 100% accurate, it can be a pain when negotiating a roundabout etc.

Lane Departure Warning is a waste of time, the vibrations are so subtle that you hardly notice them in an M6 anyway, when you do, it's just annoying!

Congrats on the car, we seem to be getting a few more in the UK now, or at least on the board! Still only 159 in the UK, someone had one built in PERIDOTGRUEN-METALLIC (W81) yesterday. This is the only picture of it I can find.

That might be quite nice, might not!

Thanks for that, I need to make a decision on my final spec before it goes into build. I'd originally not ticked the night vision, lane change or lane departure as the sort of use I generally do I wouldn't see any use from it. It was more to have a play and see how good they were on an on going basis....also I can't stand spaces on the dash where buttons should be..

I've also been considering the 4 way climate control, electric blinds and heated rear seats just to give the kids something to play with...when I got the F10 M5 the first time they jumped in they said dad these seats are cold, are they not heated!?
I'm also going to add climate comfort windscreen and ski bag for what they cost...might be handy for the odd longer object in the boot...

I think BMW did very well making Grand Coupe by following current automobile industries. Plus I see more GC than Coupes.

Night Vision and lane changing warning systems are total waste of money. You are not going to depend on those technology right? Plus are you going to blame those techs if you get an accident?...so this is my opinion.

I agree they are silly money and I don't need them to drive well, I was more interested in reviewing how good they were....I'm interested in the technical side and gadgetry of these types of thing.

Probably leave them out and stick with the current build....you can go on forever ticking boxes!

I have specced the heated rear seats, and M-Multi function fronts.

Same here, the M-Multifunction seats are the only way to go, the standard ones look terrible!

I've fired and 'offer' off to the dealer tonight on the extra options...we'll see what he can do...it's a bit cheeky but you don't get anything unless you try hard!

Welcome to the club! We're twins! Mine arrives back in the port on June 11th and hopefully back in my hands soon after. Congrats -- you're gonna love it!

Ahhh...thanks, good to know the Singapore grey with Sakhir has others doing the same, I think it should add an air of subtlty in grey with the red making it that bit more special inside...

Just waiting on the dealer coming back to me today with a 'deal' on a load more options, I'm just trying to load it with all the techy bits to have a play but at £1535 UK price the night vision is ridiclously expensive for what it actually appears to be able to do, I'm also not so sure that it will be counter productive and divert the drivers attention from the road by looking at the screen, unless I've missed something?

Thanks for another vote, I had the beautiful Monte Carlo Blue with Silverstone interior on the M5 but wanted something less obvious on this car...looking forward to seeing it in the flesh!

As a rough approximation I recon there are 10 times the number of M5's compared to M6s. There are already over 4000 RHD F10 M5's, nearly twice as many as there are RHD E39 M5s, and obviously they are still making them at quite a rate.

Lets hope GC's remain very few...its nice to have something very rare...future values may be better than the big falls that coupe's normally have....well you never know!

Less than 160 M6 GC i think ordered so far (Richard has the details) so should be very exclusive, even less with CP, I may just keep this one.

Great, one question, the LED,s under the headlights, are they indicators or DRL's?
