Is M6 Rigid?
I’m looking for a new daily to replace my CL. Was thinking about M6. We need a backseat for a toddler and soon to be newborn. The fave - 991 Targa 4S is a super tight squeeze, M4 Cab is another option.
As I was poking around looking at M6 stuff I saw Chris Harris implicate that even the M6 coupe has a little shake or lack of chassis rigidity. If the coupe is flexible that makes me think the convertible (which I’m also considering) must be a noodle! Is this true? And if so do you guys do strut brace?

Not true at all. Not sure how you "feel" it, unless you're trying to pull 1g in a skidpad back to back with another car. this car is well built. This isn't the 1940s...

I have a convertible and it feels like a rock. I do not race it but I drive in a "sporty" way and i feel always stable. But everybody has a different feel. Look at the review that fifth gear did on the convertible that was driven on the track. I did not buy it to be a race car, I just love the way it drives and it's design.

The perception might be due to the rigidly mounted rear subframe. Most other cars have rubber bushings but the F10/06/12/13 and F80/82/87 all have a rigid rear subframe which may make bumps feel more noticable at the rear and in turn affect the car differently do what someone is used to.

Why not go for M6 Gran Coupe, best of both worlds? Looks and drives like the coupe, just a bit more elegant, and has the space for a growing family, even when the kids’ legs grow longer - I couldn’t have even my own kids to be kicking to the back of the front seats...
As to the rigidity, had a Coupe that I just traded for a Gran Coupe, equally rigid, and I would second a comment above, unless you are searching for limits on a race track, you will never want anything more rigid... |

The M4 does this some with top down. With top up there is none. Do you guys ever notice this in M6 coupe or vert? |
