Running PSS & PS4S together?
Good evening,
So i need to change my rear tires pretty soon. I am wondering if it would be safe and okay to run MPSS up front and MPS4S in the rear? I know so many people said it's better to run the same tires all around. But i heard that the PS4S are quite significantly better in terms of grip, that's why I'm thinking about putting PS4S's in the rear. What are your thoughts? Let me know! Thankyou! Best, AL

How much longer do you have on the fronts? As long as your replacing the tires in pairs (fronts and backs obvi), and since they are RWD cars you should have no issues.

Fronts I have about 7/32 traead depth left. Yes I'm gonna replace it in pairs for sure. That's also what I was thinking, in RWD car it should be fine. Thanks for your thoughts, appreciate it bro!

I had this exact setup (PSS in front, PS4S in rear). On heavy throttle the car is pretty hard to keep in a straight line because the thread design on the PSS is significantly different from the newer PS4S. It feels as if the car swerved left and right even when you hold the wheel straight. Easy to lose control so be careful. I had the fronts replaced a few months later and now have PS4S all around. Couldn't be happier.

You'll be fine lol. If your not tracking the car and pushing it to the limits you could even have mismatched tires on all 4 corners and be ok.

Years ago, on my M3, during the winter I ran snow tires in the rear (Dunlop) and all-seasons on the front (Pirelli). My car didn't blow up, I didn't lose street cred, and my car stayed on the road....
