Staggered rims on X drives

Hi,

I took my 650 xi Gran coup to BMW dealership to change my 19" non staggered (351) wheels to 20" staggered (373). They told me that you can not put staggered rims on xdrive cars and they said if you wanna do that you have to sign an agreement that your drivetrain is out of warranty. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do?

LOL - yeah show them about 50 for sale ads where 650's with x drives come equipped with 373 staggered wheels. And then find a new BMW dealership because those guys are assholes.

Upstate said it perfectly. Your dealership is a joke. I hope you have other options in your area.

I called another dealership, they told me the same thing. They checked my VIN and they said you can't put bigger wheels on this car. How did you change your wheels? Did you go to a BMW dealership?

Why would you have to go to a dealership to get new rims?
When isntalling staggered wheels you have to just make sure your front and rear tyres are on the same level, tacomaworld tyre calculator will help.
If the tyres are incorrect, then yes it can cause harm to an Awd car.

I had wheels and tires installed at my local tire shop. My car has been to the dealer with M5 staggered wheels on it and no one says a word. In fact, they replaced a tire on it the last time I was there. As long as diameter of tires is the same it doesn't matter. Again, the 650 with x drive comes with staggered tires from the factory as an option.

I agree. All the Xdrive requires is that the tire diameters be as close to the same front and back as possible.
