BMW 640D M-sport convertible roof replacment

Hi I'm new to the site and looking for some advice.

I have a bmw 6 series 2013 soft top and the roof got slashed a few months ago.
I've found a second hand one but can't find any info on changing it and how hard it is?

Also the one I'm buying does have a few creases in how easy would it be to clear them.

I've tried posting a picture of the roof.

Have a look at what propping the roof open would be like.

from first glace looks like loads of intricate parts, so delicate job.

have a look at the diagram, from the birds view it would appear there aren't many mounting bolts associated with the job list.

I got my creases out by using

after the deep cleaning, I used a handheld steamer to work the creases out.

The most difficult part of a roof replacement is actually the fabric. If you are buying a complete assembly then it should be fairly straightforward (by comparison). You would need to bleed the hydraulics and check for proper alignment though.

You won't get those crease lines out. Period. It's just part of a convertible top. They won't come out any more than the wrinkles that form after a while from sitting on a leather seat. They are, at a microscopic level, actual damage to the fabric. After a while you can actually feel them, not just see them. I've been driving convertibles since 1978 so I have a wee bit of experience.

The one in the photo is not bad at all. It's just "character." Mine is worse than that. Even if you buy a brand new one it will look like that after a summer if you actually use it much. And if you don't use it, there's no point in having a convertible.
