My 2016 BMW M6!!!

After months of waiting she is finally here!!!!
She is still at the dealer getting the M-Performance parts installed. Picking her up on Thursday, then off to PSI to get the Vorsteiner Aero kit installed along with a CF front grill, CF Engine cover and M Logo LED door lights.

Gah! You're making me want mine now!!!!! She's at port Bremerhaven waiting for a ship! (One leaves on the 30th to the west coast which I hope I get on it, if not/ it's until mid June and late June for the next ones)

If mine needed to be prepped that long upon arrival, I might need to bring some comfy clothes and sleep in it at night while at the dealer.

Congratulations!!!!

After a few miles for a good break in (several recent threads on ways to do that) you will be thrilled beyond belief that you got this car. It is such a treat to drive. I've got to add that those had to be the longest 1100 miles I have ever driven. You think you are going nutso now waiting for it to get here or to finish being prepped, I had a terrible time not going completely WOT at all once I got in mine. You can definitely feel what the car is capable of and it's so obvious there is a whole lot more there than what you are experiencing. I almost think I'd rather be waiting for the car. Soooooo glad I am past that part now.

A new business opportunity just occurred to me: live satellite tracking of BMW's from the factory, complete with a live video feed all the way from the factory to the dock and onto the ship, as it crosses the ocean, and every foot right up to the dealership. As insanely anxious as you guys seem to be getting, waiting on your cars to make it here, I think we could make a few million even with what it would cost to provide a live satellite video feed. Maybe we could even get BMW to let us have a feed following it down the assembly line.

Of course guys - no insult intended. I'm going to be exactly the same way when I order mine in a few years. No, that's not true . . . to be honest I'll probably be even worse; more likely far worse.

Boy I love this car. Mine's up to about 3500-4000 miles. Now that it feels like everything is pretty well seated it's getting a bit more of a workout when the driving situation dictates, or more likely permits. Like I said . . . Boy I love this car! If I hadn't just gotten this one and didn't have a couple of years and many happy miles before my next one I'd probably already be wondering about that next one, right up there with Mr.SugarSkulls and all you others anxiously awaiting the arrival of their new ones . But I sure do understand what you are going through.

I know I say I'll never order one individual again, but part of me enjoys this lonnnnnnggggggg tease. I enjoy talking to the reps on the phone.

When I swim my laps in the pool, I try to envision what it's going to be like finally picking car up. What to wear, what to do before hand, what to do after-

It's torturous, but I'm loving every single step. Every time they tell me there's a new "step" in the process accomplished, it just feeds me more anxiety.

But one thing I'll disagree with- I would MUCH rather "suffer" not going WOT having my car, than be stuck here. It's weird saying this process "sucks" because I know something good is happening. Such an awesome feeling I think every enthusiast should subject themselves. Yet agonizing all together.

My lease will end up next year (well I mean September 2016) and so far I have 3-4 cars in the list and one of them is (was not 2 months ago) M6 CP Coupe due to new power jump
Still I have eyes on 991 GT3 and AMG GTS and I know McLaren 570s is on the way, but the last one is not DD car
There is nothing left out there

Do it. I'm sure there's some thrill in going to the dealer, picking out a car and having instant gratification- but you have to go through this process to fully understand what everyone over at the f8x pricing forum is feeling and a few of us here from time to time. Before ordering, I'd roll my eyes reading some of their posts. Now I get it.

You'll ultimately make the right call for you- but if you do another M, experience this sh*tty, helpless, exhilarating experience that is ordering, tracking and practically stalking your vehicle for 2-5 months.

The worst part is you catch yourself saying the same things over and over again and try to be mindful of those who have heard it already, but who cares?! Everyday you're a step closer to your own, built for you M!!
