New steering wheel
I fully intended this to be a tutorial but in the end I found it quite hard and gave taking pictures. Its not so much that there are loads of wires, its that they all have a very specific place to go, and building it back up in reverse is much harder than I thought, especially with heated wheel to contend with. Final result is great though, my old wheel was a little too shiny for me so this is now as good as new. Love it, and it feels great too!
The flash made the colours look al little off, its not that grey in real life |

here's a before and after of the wheels while indoors doing the changeover. Not the best, you can't quite tell how nice the new wheel is and how "used" the old one is but its a big difference in real life

I purchased from Leebmann24.de. You can get a discount there if you tell them you're a BMW forum member. I've ordered a few things there, they're pretty good.

Have to say that looks spot on
Unfortunately I've got the older type steering wheel and not sure how much effort and ££ it would end up converting it to your type of steering wheel Thx for the supplier details
