M6 engine oil. Which is correct??

I took my new M6 convertible in for the break in service and noticed that the dealer used SAE 5W-30 oil. When reading the manual on page 171 it states "When selecting an engine oil, ensure that the engine oil belongs to the viscosity grade SAE 0W-30 or 0W-40 or malfunction or engine damage may occur".
I asked the SA about this and he sent me the following bulletin from BMW stating that the oil to use is SAE 5W-30 for the F12. See attachment.
Which is correct and is there much of a difference between the two grades?
What's your take on this???
