You could always get an F13 and "pull up to the scene with the ceiling missing." I personally would rather have a coupe, because I like the way it looks over the soft top, but it's a pretty good time to ride in the open air now and then. Couldn't find a comparable deal on a coupe, though. Lease is only ~1240 on this thing.

A vert is definitely not an option. Just not my style- currently exploring a possible wk 12 GC allocation (weird how they weren't affected by it) or moving into an i8. Totally different cars- but it's what it's coming down to

Seems like they've been selling more of the GC than the coupes lately. Maybe they gave it some type of priority when it came to cf allocation. Who knows where these roofs even come from, maybe since they're different sizes they come from different manufacturers.

My thoughts exactly. I test drove an i8 the other day and while really fun, it's not an M. Mind you the attention (just test driving it alone) was a bit much for me.

And the way the car feels from the m6, two different worlds. But my patience is beginning to ware thin, so I'm making the decision by the end of the week.

Oh and btw- 1240?!? Talk about a steal. For that price- the vert would be looking migghhhhtttyyy fine

Have you considered a 2015? Push back to May, after the CF production was supposed to have been rectified is nuts.

I have, which honestly- the main reason it isn't in my cards is cause I'm adamant on it being stick (if it's an M) which weren't many to begin with seeing how the 2014s didn't sell well at all.

I'm only willing to go auto for the i8 which my dealer would waive the mark up- (how generous on a 140k car -rolls eyes-) but I'm starting to like the idea of the gran coupe. It'll keep it slightly fresh for me coming from a coupe already. A gran coupe just always seemed like something to aspire for later, but maybe everything happens for a reason.

Not to mention- a lot of options for the 15s come standard on the 16s so my car would only be 125k after frozen paint/white opal interior.

He did and zero (he told me I'd have about as good chance finding a winning lotto ticket since I'm looking atfrozen space gray+ white opal full leather+ 6spd manual)

BUT

problem solved. Decided to get a 2016 GC with a week 11 allocation currently scheduled to beging building March 16th!! (Still no idea why they weren't affected by the shortage, could be so many things) but yeah!

My gf even joked if by me getting a bigger car this was my way of saying I want to add two little ones in the back...

2016 Stick?

Hey. I'm thinking of ordering a 2016 M6 CP with a manual transmission. How long from ordering one (manual transmission, Tanzanite blue?) to production? I toy with fetching it in Munich, but I will probably just have it shipped to Chicago.

I know a fresh 6 Series will be coming soon, BUT it seems like the next generation might not come with a stick. Do we have any confirmation of that? I know they have threatened that before, but especially if they go AWD for the M6, it seems like this M6 might be my last chance to get a stick. Any thoughts?

I'm going to warrant what I'm going to say that I have zero experience with ED, so I may not be the best person from that aspect. I'm doing normal delivery to my dealer in Southern California-

Well, the earliest you're looking at a 16 w/ comp package is July- the first half of the 16s- and depending if you're looking at a coupe- they're already on a two month delay (was supposed to start production in March, got pushed to may) so the comp packages may be pushed to September.

Gran coupes haven't been affected, which is why I'm switching to one. The comp package begins production as mentioned, July for those.

Tanzanite blue is considered a "priority 1" color- so, like mine (frozen space gray) it tacks on 2-3 weeks ontop of the already 6-8.

That's why comp package became a discussion, if it's absolutely worth it. I don't track my cars, and my 14 m6 has the comp package/ and when I drove one without it- I felt no difference other than sport plus which was stiffer (the steering wheel) so if you intend to track it- and can wait until September-December delivery for one- go for it. I personally couldn't so I'm hoping to get mine by end of May/early June

Oh also- I've read that this may be the last of the MT M6 as well...sad day when that day comes, but sales for this MT haven't been as strong in my opinion to keep it around another generation. So make sure you tell all yours friends to order their 16s with MT

Thanks. That's all very helpful. It firms up my plans to get one. I've driven a 2015 M5 with the dual clutch, and it's great; but I just think it would be more fun, and a challenge, to go old school. I've squeezed all the life out of my old 545 with a stick, so it's time to move on/up.

And sorry, I didn't make it clear, I'm planning on a GC. Hate the name, love the 2 extra doors. Sounds like I should get an order in an just hope for the best as in late summer at the earliest.
