640i Cp or X6 3.5
Hello everyone! I am looking to upgrade me 328i Cp to a 640i Cp or X6 3.5. I know they are two diff. vehicles and i had my hart set on the X6 but when the new 6 Series Coupe came out ... OMG. So, now it is a hard choice for me. What do i like in the X6 - space, style, taller ( i am 6'4" ), but the MPG is bad and i don't care for the AWD. The 640i on the other hand is so sexy - i am 33 years old, but don't think that is a car for the old folks.
I would like a feedback! Thank you! |

Strange enough the X6 was the only alternative for the 640i (allthough cabriolet) for me as well.
I tested both. My brain said X6, my heart said 640. I listened to my heart

Feelings are difficult to explain, but I have a long tradition of sports cars (or at least sporty cars). This time I felt like considering something different. An ordinary sedan is nothing to me, and the X5 is too common. That's why the X6 could be something. It stands out, not beautiful, a brutal design, politically incorrect. Very impractical for it's size, allthough better than the 640i. These are all qualities on the positive side. Besides, living in a country with long and snowy winters, an X6 definitely suits the climate well.
Then they revealed the design of the 6-series F12/F13 last year, which brought back my childhoods dreams of the 633CSi. At that time an unrealistic fantasy, but today something within reach. I was immediately struck by the beauty of the design and gradually understood that sports cars or at least convertibles are my eternal destiny (I must add that for urban use I have a Mini Cooper S, which might be traded in for a F20 120d in 2012). It was a choice between a (slightly impractical) beauty and a (slightly less impractible) beast. The beauty won, allthough I sympathise with the beast. So you see this is a personal choice, not made by rational arguments. If so, the X6 would not be on my list either.....

Speedster, thank you! I think i am going for the X6. The reason why - it has 4 doors, more back space ( found the 6 coupe backspace very small ) and like you said, it is a beast. I have until the end of this month to make up my mind. The 6 on the other hand is so sleek, better MPG ... i don't know

Allthough not my final choice, the X6 is an excellent automobile! I tested it and especially with the 4 seperate seats it gives you a coupe feeling not existing in any other SUV.
You are right about the rear seats in the 6er. Only for kids. You will be happy with any of the two

I have an SUV and a Sedan for people shuttling as well as a Mini for the times I don't feel like driving the 6. It really all depends on your personal needs/preferences
