New member new F12 owner

Hello everyone!!! New, old, M6 convertible owner here. I'm picking up a 2013 San Merino Blue with black interior F12 tomorrow!!

This will be my second M car and second M6. My last one was an 07 Silverstone Silver with red interior 6 speed, back in 07. I leased it new. Was my best car ever. I've never loved an automobile like I loved that car. Unfortunately, my business went south and I had to giver her up. It's been 8 years, 8 long, painful lonely years of auto heart break!! I refused to even look at cars after that, too depressed because I couldn't afford another M6.

Fortunately for me, life has turned around dramatically. Although I'm not buying new, I am buying another M6 and I couldn't be happier. Plus, I'm buying it outright, so no payments. The car is really mine this time!!

I took it for a test ride last week and knew within 6 seconds, yes, literally 6 seconds of driving that this was the car I wanted. I test drove a few other cars prior to that. 2 M3s, both convertibles, both 2013. They made me smile, but my heart was still aching. I test drove a 2010 grand sport vette, automatic unfortunately, and I enjoyed it quite a bit, unfortunately only when I hit the gas. Other than that, I missed the luxury of BMW. The interior was too bland, too plasticky. Next, 2013 SL63 AMG. Really nice car. Beautiful car. I almost bought it. Then I asked myself why? You know what you want... A couple of weeks later (had a 10 vacation in between) I stated looking for M6s again. It didn't take very long.

I searched for a manual in Florida, without much luck. Anyway, like I said earlier, I ignored cars in my 8 year hiatus. I know a couple of years back that I read the title of an article regarding the M6 new engine, being a V8 TT. That slipped my mind. When I arrived at the dealership, I was very disappointed to remember, no more V10.

Well, they pulled the car out, I sat in the driver seat. Already drooling. Started it up and instantly smiled. Forgot the V10 for a moment. Put it in drive, 1, (after setting up the 900 combinations of settings) and drove away. Smiling and dropping simultaneously. Exit parking lot, hit the gas, wow... V10 what?? I was pleasantly surprised at the engine and car. I knew right at that moment, I wasn't going to miss the V10. This was my next car... And it is.

I won't sleep tonight, much like last night, and every day since Saturday. I've literally awaken everyday since Saturday, with the pleasant thoughts of my new car.

Anyway, let me say that I've missed this car more than I thought would be possible. For the first year, I probably thought of it every day, as sad and pathetic as that sounds. Up until recently, when I knew it was time for my next M, I thought of another M6 or my old one every single week!! So, after my 8 year wait... I present my new 2013 BMW F12 M6: (apologies for the long post, I'm just extremely excited)

Thank you very much!!! I don't think I'll ever appreciate a car like this one. The wait has been so long. A few years back, things were very bad, I thought I'd never own one again. I'm grateful every day for my health, my family, and my business. I start the day every day with a smile, which will only be greater starting tomorrow!!

Just received my insurance cards too... One step closer!!!

Any input on vanity plate ideas?

These are the ones I thought of and are available:

TTURBOH
TTM6
M6TT
TTRBOM6
M6TTRBO

Any other witty suggestions?

Just waiting for the check, they are drafting it now and I headed straight to the dealership. Within the hour I'll be driving to work in my new car!!! I'm so excited!!
T minus 19!!! Might be the longest 20 minutes of my life!!

Bought my first mod last night too. Carbon fiber shifter thing. $150. Hopefully that shaves some serious weight off of my car.

Thanks, sounds like fun. Been almost a decade since my last meet/run... Definitely miss them. Is there a good turnout? Things definitely seem to have died down for the M6. I remember a lot more activity on the forums with th E6X Ms. The m6board is literally dead for the m6. The last post was over a week old.

Are people turning away from the last Gen m6? Was reading the next Gen may go on a serious diet, which I think is exactly what the Dr ordered for the newer Ms. I've read lots of complaints about the weight and how the M brand not just being diluted, but they are losing their roots.

Hard for me to really say, this being just my 2nd M, plus, coming from a 2008 G37 this feels like a race car. Lol.

We usually get 90+ at the picnic.

The M6 is a rich man's older man's car, so less computer savvy or interested in forums imho. I troll the M5 forum, more action there, and mostly the same issues.
